Afraid not. It's exclusively streaming on Amazon, and in the US it requires an Anime Strike subscription. Money talks and with the bottomless wallet Amazon has they paid quite a lot so that they can horde the streaming rights all to themselves. If it wasn't exclusive, then everybody would watch it in other places and not pay for their subscription, so Amazon paid a lot to make it that way.

Ha watching this is such a trip it's got so many layers, I can't tell if it's poking fun at itself sometimes. Anyway Megumin makes the whole thing run smoothly.

Loved how the show turned into Monogatari for a moment right after the OP ended. Utaha channeling her inner Senjougahara and Tomoya with that Arararagi-style monologue complete with Shaft lighting.

I could be wrong about this, but I feel like Izumi has more screen time than Michiru by this point despite the fact that she's not as important. Where is Michiru anyways?

And who's the idiot that put the subs on top of shaded boxes? The subs weren't even accurate. I don't speak Japanese and even I can tell. They completely missed the part where Utaha directly states she's reading the "Monogatari Series." I also heard a bleep somewhere but have no idea what it was referring to since the subs didn't show it.

Another great episode with some excellent commentary on the relationships between creators and fans. Week in and week out this show brings it with a harem show that simultaneously celebrates and deconstructs the genre. I'm actually quite enjoying that some fans of typical harem fare are not enjoying it.

Subs are puzzling when you hear the character talk but no sub makes me think what am I missing but I just keep watching and hope no big deal?

Once again, Amazon has jumped the gun with this show as the episode is already up even before it airs on TV in Japan.

Episode 3

Iori has thrown the gauntlet seeing that it appears that the script was copied from their game. So after spending some time with Eriri and Utaha, now Michiru gets some time here as the girls are coming over to Tomoya's house. Megumi is sleeping over, while Michiru brings her Icy Tail bandmates to help work on the game's soundtrack seeing that they are up against a tight deadline. Things are going well, but then Tomoya tells Utaha that neither script is going to work. I wonder what Tomoya didn't like about both of the scripts that led him to concluding that the game is crap, but in any case everybody has their work cut out. Pretty nice to see the harsh reality of this business as even with Utaha's talents, she's still got a lot to learn.

I just love this scene with Izumi and Eriri getting at each other like that.

Very interesting episode. The fight reminds me of two kittens play fighting. But Izumi went to the dark side! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! .

Megumi is getting stale. Someone definitely paid her to stick around these people.

I really don't get it; for a show that's essentially a faux-intellectual excuse for fanservice, how has the fanservice become so perfunctory? I mean, someone actually had the thought "Hey, let's do two consecutive awkward shots of Megumi's thighs." Are they intentionally making it bad?

Hmm - that actually kinda makes sense. Maybe the point of Saekano was to prove that harem shows are crappy: It's taken a generic bad harem plot, slathered on some self-awareness to trick people into thinking it's smart, and made the fanservice so rote it's not even remotely titillating. And of course people would love it; they wouldn't know better anyway, and people love claiming the trash they like is smart. That'd be an incredible troll if true, and I'd say props to the person who thought of it.

E3

Megumi MVP here, actually moving the plot along. Though I have to say, like the Icy Tail member mentioned - a room full of girls, and he's just there unfazed - his manhood has been questionable since Season 1. Even Michiru, though she disappointingly continues to be Background Char A, doesn't really affect him. Poking fun at Harem leads, Saekano.

I'm not a fan of Utaha basing her future based on which girl he'd choose in the story as a thinly veiled proxy for her and Eriri - girl, you decide your own future and strive for what YOU want. He's not worth it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for their game having issues, it's not surprising as they aren't collaborating - working in silos is almost never going to be as good as the synergy you get from fleshing out ideas from your team, and breathing life to the game.

Interesting episode, a season and a 1/3 and their game is going back to square one? Since it reflects the relationships what does that mean for the characters?

Episode 4

The problems with Utaha's scripts are explained as it reads too much like a novel, and not exactly fitting for a game as it's all about movement, and what Utaha wrote is too wordy for it to work. So after the two have a heated exchange at the school's culture festival, they work together and revise it at Tomoya's house, and after a lot of hard work, a script has been worked out that involves adding a third route, one where both Meguri and Ruri are happy. That means extra work for Eriri, but at least Utaha's role is finished so that she can get on with the novel. Pretty nice to see those two getting along, and to let her know that while she may be great at writing novels, the rules are not universal as she initially thought.
