KingKaio I've gotten the impression that in Japan during emergencies, people do what they're told. They follow rules to the letter. i.e. when's the last time they portrayed a riot in a modern Japanese city? There aren't many.
Also, the people are effectively hostages in the airplane. They are equally terrified as uncomfortable. Not being able to see outside is what will really drive people over the edge- but I do not expect to see that portrayed.

I guess you're right. If it were me, I would be terrified and hoping this is just a nightmare.

There's only 2 ep, but there's already Shindo x Yahakui fanarts with heartbroken Hanamori in pixiv. Fandom truly don't dissapoint me

One other thing that I have noticed with the show so far. is that zaSuna can prioritize the "conversion" of people (no that's not ominous at all) , otherwise Shindo couldn't leave. I wonder if the passengers will trickle out in a "women and children first" sort of way.

Episode 3

The alien wants to speak with the government with the world listening in. Yaha-kui sure is an ambitious alien and Shindo is the right guy to bridge the gap in information. Yaha-kui shows the world that he's not of this universe grabbing that water bottle like that. And then he shows what Wam can do knocking out the power, and then putting it back up using Wam. Yaha-kui sure doesn't mess around, and he's advancing humanity in a big way. Quite an intense negotiating session this is.

Stocks tied to OPEC countries plummet overnight putting millions out of work.
Major political instabilities as the strategic value of counties like Iran and Saudi Arabia as friends tank.
And much, much more.
'Up-lift' stories are always interesting.

Hope they have a designated survivior since they just announced where all their top government officials are to the alien.

zaShuhina is a bit obsessed with advancement. Hopefully for Shindo this doesn't go the route of the Borg or Cybermen. Though he also reminds me a bit of Q with wanting to test humans.
Anyways, pretty good scifi so far.

Alot to digest this eps. We find out sort of where ZaShuhina is from and he wants to advance humanity and offer them an infinite power supply.

Of course human are complliated creatures, from the preview for the next eps doesn't look like this will go so smoothy..

Getting good. Though one thing I'll say, the humans maybe don't understand how much power and if someone were to say use it in a bomb it might have the capability to destroy the country or continant since it's infinite power. Also he might take it away if they were to use it like that and like scold them on that if it's used that way they'll simply destroy themselves.

Another good episode.

Right now, all I'm curious of is what does zaShunina get from all this. What is his true motive for wanting humankind to advance. I'm feelin' pretty wary in all this.

I can't help but get a sinister feeling from the tagline "i hope you make the right answer" and looks at the negotiator after he gives them the WAM. This about the repercussions, if Japan keeps this energy source they are now the most advanced civilization in the world (wrong answer but most profitable one, and knowing humans...). On the other hand what would be expected is that Japan figures out a way to distribute the WAM to the world in some way that doesn't turn them into weapons. This is where the show is introducing the hook though and it definitely got me with that last scene.

Given the godlike technology this civilization wields, if they really wanted to destroy us, they would need to bestow a tremendous gift and then wait around for it to happen. I think this will likely turn out to be a test of humanity's ability to transcend its limitations. The one thing I am suspicious about is the claim that he can't release the passengers on the plane for another 29 days. Each passenger only requires so much time for Kado to process, so he could let them out one at a time. Is he keeping them there in case the world fails his test and they become the last living humans? ZaShunia (sp?) states that capturing the plane was an accident, but I think that might be a lie. He materialized Kado in the middle of an airport, and he knows enough about Earth to know which country he wanted to deal with first. What's more, it materialized at the time and place where it would overlap with one and only one aircraft.

The answer why not release a few passengers at a time is simple. Image how the passengers would feel if they were kept being passed over for release. Anxiety, tension and fear would shoot through the roof and become much harder to control and perhaps cause deaths. Easier to keep everybody calm and as happy as they be and not create chaos.

Infinite energy? That's something to strive for, but feels very dangerous if actually realized. Imagine how easy it would be to destroy the world, or how much power discrepancy would there be (for those with or without Wam). Anyways, very interesting episode. I wonder why zaShunina is so eager to advance humanity so quickly. Is there some impeding event, or does it just uplifts civilizations as a hobby? Lots of questions, and I hope this show provides us with answers.

Wam, Bam, thank you Ma'am. Those marbles are really individual universes that he plays with in the palms of his hands

He chose humans as the most capable of "sharing the bread", though we are selfish creatures by nature; we create boundaries between our own race in the form of countries for example and we even assume the defensive position when he appeared. If he were to interact with animals, I wonder if they'd embrace him with open arms.

I find it amusing that the questioning zaZhunina is asking the humans to do is exactly what we're doing here in this thread - curses, he's playing us all.
