Plot Summary

This news may seem sudden... but this world died long ago.

Earth died a thousand years ago, and a legendary clockmaker known only as "Y" rebuilt it using clockwork. Naoto Miura, a failing high school student, encounters RyuZU, an automaton that "Y" left behind, and the genius clockmaker Marie. When the abilities of these three come together, the gears of fate begin to turn. The cycle of failure and success repeats endlessly as the three of them work to repair the endangered "Clockwork Planet" in this clockpunk fantasy!

Episode 1 is now out, but it doesn't seem to be loading for me at the moment. Guess I'll go over and watch Love Tyrant in a minute before coming to this.

Episode 1

Naoto and RyuZU sure did hit it off there. This machine doll just fell from the sky and now he's the master of an automaton. Pretty amusing what went down in front of that love hotel. In the meantime, Kyoto is about to fall and Marie is the only one who can save those 20 million from suffering the purge. Things sure started off well here and I look forward to watching more of this.

Episode 1

Heh, they jumped right into the action with the episode without wasting much time. OP song is by fripSide which is pretty recognizable by their style.

I think on most parts, the episode's has that techno intense feel and combined with elements of cyberpunk. Some of the concepts introduced in this show is interesting so far in particular the techo gears. RyuZU's character design is what I had expected and surprisingly, I think they got that CGI part right.

Mixed thoughts on the first episode so I hope it improves. I just hope they make Naoto more likable as he doesn't seem like an impressive character to me yet. The fan service made me roll my eyes a bit.

Agreed! I feel like the concepts are interesting but the fanservice is just getting in the way...

Who knows... most first episodes are more "fanservice-y" than the others, maybe it will get better. (I hope!!!)

If I remember correctly, the manga was developed by the same guy behind No Game No Life, so the fan service probably won't go away.

Strikes me as a futuristic/dystopian Chobits. That said this show has the potential for greatness, or absolute failure. Personally I would have to say the sharp tongued RyuZU is going to be added to my personal collection of favorite characters. The finger thing was really too much, but I have high hopes for this show.

Really great show for someone like me who enjoys stories that feature androids, cyborgs or automatons. Don't really care about the fan service one way or another. At least it's never made me not want to watch something before

Well that escalated quickly...

Not sure what the story will be but so far I'm hooked. I'm actually surprised by the CGI here. It looks good on the gears and it's used at just the right moments. fripSide OP was also good.

I wonder if the master clock smith is related to our favorite gearhead Hand Shaker?
