This looks like it could be fun. I wasn't expecting to like RyuZU, I thought she was going to be bland emotionless robot lady, but I like her snark.

Yeah, I bet you know all about the sharpness of her tongue

Also for the sake of the obligatory joke: Where do you think she keeps those scythes...

This first episode felt a bit all over the place, but I am intrigued about the whole Gear concept and setting. Seems like there will be politics involved. Looking forward to see more.

I usually like fanservice, but I hope the show does a better job at integrating it. Here it just felt a little too weird. (Why does a robot have saliva?)

I'm hoping as the series progresses we get less finger sucking and more clockwork. I had thought this would be a steampunk series but it's feeling more like your standard sci-fi only with gears slapped on it. I'm still intrigued enough to give it the three episode trial but another tacked on fan-service scene like that and it may not even get that far. (Seriously, could they not have even added her saying something like "DNA registered" or something to make it make sense? I mean, when she put his finger in her mouth I was expecting maybe she'd bite it lightly, not suck on it like her life depended on it.)

After reading the concept, I was interested. After watching the first episode, I'm disappointed. RyuZU is cool but that's about it at this point. Visually it's all over the place and I'm just not finding it's attempts at humour to be all that funny. I also don't care for the main character at all. Oh, and what was with the strangely high amount of fan service in the very first episode? Ugh.

I'll probably give it another episode or two to see if it manages to capture any of the concept I was drawn to in the first place but if this first episode was any indication, I can't see sticking around for the long haul.

Man this episode suuuuuucked. I started reading the manga adaptation and this episode was just a fucking hackjob of the material in there. Here is an example of how badly they handled this first episode. They flat out got Naoto wrong. In the manga it starts out with Naoto in school getting bullied, but despite that he is busy working on fixing I think a clock, it was a small machine with lots of little gears in it. Meaning Naoto is good with clocks and machines. In this show they keep having him repeat he can't fix clocks. Also I found it funny, in a bad way, that in this episode Naoto was wishing he could build an automaton one day, in the manga he was in the process of already building his own damn automaton! They basically turned Naoto into a bumbling fuckup.....for reasons.

It isn't supposed to be! The manga adaptation has none of the fanservice seen in this episode outside of the finger sucking and even that was toned down compare to what we got. For example in the manga when Naoto opens up RyuZu, he opens up her back and basically the rest of the repair scene is focused on her back. In this show they had her stomach open up for the sole purpose of allowing us to see RyuZu's tits the entire scene.

There are just waaaaay too many changes they made in this episode that I just can't continue with this show. Right out of the gate they have shown a lack of respect for the source material......

Well, that was a mess ( with 47982 random gears glued to it at various angles for no reason whatsoever ) and wtf at the finger blowjob.

In the light novel that scene specifically describes the ecstatic mouth lube she's slurping around his finger so I'm not holding out any hope that the fanservice was a one off accident. Though your right that the anime had to take it a step further and add the Boob Zipper Button whereas the novel/manga the panel is on her back.

Either way its a friggan weird and awkward scene to have tossed in out of left field like that.

First episode was a disappointment. Not only did they rush the story they also change Naoto character as Koda89 brought out. He was never a bag full of confidence but he was much better then what they displayed in the anime(the fact that he couldn't fix a clock was absolutely ridiculous).

They also left out the scene where Marie and Halter threaten that military guy to find out that the city will be purge and leaves the whole discovery off scene to a completely different person.

Basically they skipped over all the character development for the main cast beside Ryuzu and even her development was a bit different.

That whole having that guy(who I think is anime original, maybe?) discover the purging plan offscreen thing is even dumber when you consider the next episode preview freaking shows the elevator scene where Marie and Halter learn the plan!

That guy who discovered the purge plan isn't an original character but he doesn't actually show up until vol 3 if I remember correctly or at least near the end of vol 2.

I for one was expecting fan service solely based on the studio. I really enjoyed RyuZU, I thought she was pretty entertaining.

I think that Key Visual took up half of the anime's apparent budget.
