First and foremost, the whole anime aesthetic/art style. I've found it highly appealing ever since I was young and I still love it to this day. Secondly, the fact that anime characters never age. I love that no matter how old I get, anime characters will always be youthful and cute. (Unless they do a sequel series like with Boruto or something)

I love how dynamic it is!! And I love it for the darker and more thoughtful plots as well.

I love all animation as a whole, but anime in particular hits a certain need for me. I love the snappy motion with tons of follow through that anime tends to do that other styles of animation usually don't. There's a lot more emphasis on rhythm, as well as things like scenery, hair, and clothing. There's a real love for motion, but anime doesn't restrict itself to the realistic. Quite frequently rules are completely broken.

The simplistic, but expressive character designs are something I really hold dear as well. There's something in me that still longs for the simpler times of the 2000's. It's beautiful, but I don't care at all for the trend of detailed characters that seem to stem from light novel illustrations. With all the extra dongles they have, they tend to lose the flexibility and strong silhouette a simple design can afford. Studio Trigger is really bringing back this kind of look though!

And I really love how well anime handles darker themes. As much as I love good shows targeted at kids, sometimes I need more. I feel like America really translates "adult themes" as sex and sex jokes only. There's not a lot of material that's adult in the way Cowboy Bebop is.

There's just so much diversity. No matter what you like, as long as you're open minded, there's an anime for you.

I've aways been a big fan of all types of animation. My love of anime grew out of that. Just like with many foreign (non-animated) films, there's different pacing, story structure, cultural signposts, etc. in anime than is often found in western animation. I find that I respond well to much of that, even if I may not appreciate it in the same way as someone with firsthand knowledge of Japanese culture might. I also like what seems to be a fluidity with established genres. It's likely largely a different way of organizing genres, but it feels less rigid to me than western genres.

Animation beats life. Also, I dig storytelling and seeing time~honored genre tropes getting curb stomped

It's a medium that can't really be portrayed in any other way.

Let's see if I can get this correctly into words

1. Plot lines. Anime plot lines are just more interesting. That may be because I was raised in the west so western story premises seem normal, but I don't think that's the case

2. Action. The action in anime is generally really good. And it's an aesthetic thing. Hollywood is good with big battles and explosions and excitement. Anime is good with 1v1, 2v2, etc. It's good at investing you in a character and why they're fighting, at making you know what's at stake when the fighters step forward, and know how intense the fight is going to be. Then they deliver on those feelings really well (most of the time)

3. Two principles that anime regards highly and pushes strongly
-Never give up
-Fight for your friends
I like that. My favorite anime Gurren Lagann and it delivers the first message better than literally anything (regardless of media) I've experienced thus far.

In broader terms, to sum up how I would describe anime as a whole, to quote Gurren Lagann,

"You spout a bunch of crap, but this is crap I can really get behind. Leave the fine tuning to me."

Well I think that anime is pretty amazing to think of when you watching is literally what somebody draw it's kind of cool I love the story the Romantic the hatred the jealousy and friendship is more deeper than reality. But it also have fake friendship just like other people in the real world.. but my point is what is amazing the story and also the one that create the picture..creativity and art.

to have something that you always Daydream, imagine whatever but they r in a DVDs and you can watch it whenever you feel like it.. Hhee^^

Anyway, if any one of you get my picture. Then that sweet yay! I just really like anime. the character, the story is pretty amazing. There are some anime that the story go so fast and really disappoint you because you want more but like me I never complain about it
