I never asked myself this question but many titles has deep meaning to its story and better than actual movies. I guess that is why!

No terrible acting. Besides, some of them are cute.

I like anime because by being animated it allows me to suspend any sense of disbelief and fully invest myself in the story and characters. With live action that is harder to do. As someone else already stated the introduction to the cultural differences is appealing. The pacing, concepts and twists keep me engaged and wanting more.

They can do a lot more with anime. As someone here already said; you don't have to deal with actors who already appeared in something else--which ruins the immersion.

With anime, they can do so much more for story and portrayal, and that alone lets your imagination go out for a stretch and delve into fantastical stories you just can't find in many other places. Well written, well-portrayed, and immersive. I love anime because for me, with every series I see, it's a journey.

My taglines probably says a lot about my opinion of anime, anyway

Because it delves into touchy subject matter and it isn't childish most of the time unlike most Western cartoons

I like Anime because it can tell stories that other modes of entertainment can't quite accomplish as exquisitely. I also love the Japanese ways of storytelling, and their culture, it makes watching very agreeable for me. It's intellectual, imaginative, colorful, thought provoking, and so much more!

Same reason I like animation, period.

The creativity and freedom of expression of this medium has always intrigued me.

Well, it's different, and completely unique. It tells it's tales in new, refreshing ways and provides a satisfying escape from reality, which many crave. Also, it explores completely different areas and aspects opposed to other forms of media. And last time I checked, there wasn't a western TV show about High-school girls driving tanks.

I think what first attracted me to the medium was the art style and the character designs. Anime has a sort of unique visual aesthetic that is really appealing to me.

It's variety and because the medium allows the expression of stories that other mediums limit. Say for example the anime Death Note. It's live action movie equivalent didn't carry the same impact as the animated version. The manga was close but still lacked a little something.
