If they add in regular fights, and each one of them looks so good, this anime could easily reach the top of the season.
I didn't particularly like the info dump during the first half of the episode (which imo wasn't done very well either); but with that out of the way we should be able to enjoy each character's backstory as well as their creators'.
In this episode the mahou shoujo of the series, which turns out is a "slayer", appeared.
She apparently uses magical hearts to serve justice, by beating up people with them

Well traditionally, a massive magical beat down, is how befriending works. Presumably she's used to things working that way.

Yep. She herself said that in her world there isn't any blood. She's not used to "beating someone up" actually resulting in them being beaten up (or incurring the massive amount of collateral damage that she was also shocked by).

Yeah I heard them but it still felt weird even for the standards of a magical girl show. They didn't even show us the part where they get posed to fight but instead, they skip to a shot of the outside walls with the building bursting open which felt jarring. Mamika also understood that her opponent was confronting her creator and Mamika dislikes how there's violence and bad stuff in storylines so she should understand where Celestia is coming from yet she simply just came at her without much of an explanation.

If I was her, I would at least make sure the kids were not nearby before I fought.

Seems fairly clear from her actions and reactions that she's not used to having to deal with collateral damage, bystanders, or bodily harm. Damage in children's series are usually relegated to exactly what the bad guys and good guys are targeting.

The bad guys vs good guys setting is also what's throwing her off. In those types of anime there are always clear black and white type of characters, whereas in reality it's not always so clear and there is never just a single answer to problems (ie violence). Mamika doesn't understand what Celestia is telling her about using violence to chase after her ideals of justice; which is something I particularly liked.
At the end of the episode we even have a "villain" rescuing Celestia from a Mahou Shoujo (he most likely didn't care about her, but he still saved her with his action). Which contraddicts just about everything from Mamika's world and most other pieces of media out there.

Within anime there is almost never anyone questioning the MC's use of violence to serve justice. Ofc it is that way, otherwise battle anime/manga wouldn't exist to begin with. But the idea of characters from games/anime coming to real life and start questioning each others ideals and beliefs about what's right or wrong is another aspect about this anime that I found very interesting.

This is really neat. I wasn't expecting video game characters; that changes everything. Final bosses might always have some sort of glaring weakness or attack pattern whereas LN and manga protaganists might be hardwired to always prevail somehow. Now we just gotta hope that, one day, all our waifus and/or husbandos to come to our world

Ep 2

Smart quiet girls that never stop eating is a trope that I'll never get sick of. I really like Meteora and Selesia so far. The moment Mamika showed up I assumed she was going to have ridiculously powerful magical girl abilities, and she didn't disappoint. That said, her reaction to seeing the destruction she caused was well done. I actually feel bad for her. There is no way she wanted or expected to hurt Selesia, so I hope Mr. Final Boss doesn't mess her up too much. I'm sure it'll pay off to have a magical girl on the same team.

This isn't even his final form (probably).

Episode 3

Not long after the final boss appears, a knight in shining armor arrives, and the fighting is stopped when Alicetelia carries Mamika away. After all that commotion, Yuya wants to meet his maker, while Selesia goes to meet her writer Matsubara and illustrator Marine to see just how much their actions affect her. Marine changes her outfit, and nothing happens. Pretty much, while in this world there's the sense of discovery and lasting impressions that aren't so easy to change. That was an interesting meeting there with the creator and illustrator and all is well. After so much action going on, this episode there is none of that as it's all about building chemistry. In the meantime, the military uniform girl has summoned another character in Setsuna.

Episode 3

Well apparently, the episode had Selestia being saved by Yuya although I suspect that his intentions are much more than just being heroic. In the meantime, this show continuously to develop its storytelling to allow freedom for characters to be themselves. Perhaps freedom could be a theme of this show? Hmm.

Everyone also seems to want to meet their makers. Not much action this episode which is probably fitting as a breath of fresh air. I still wonder what that mysterious girl wants though as another is one appears in their world.

Also based on what Yuya said, the military girl was with an "old guy"? Could the one promo the promo poster/OP song be allied with her? Also, I'm pretty sure military girl has a connection with Souta. Speaking of Souta, I am disappointed by his presence in this show so far. Until they reveal more about his involvement in this story, he feels like a side character.

Btw, I think the info dumping in this show is surprisingly fun to watch, not just a boring narrative of words thrown together in dialogues.
