Don't you guys think it's a bit awkward to talk about this on an anime site?

I mean I get freedom of speech and everything but it's just .....

resource officer?

Schools usually have a cop present for things like this. For every school shooting there are a hundred that are stopped by them.

all I said was we don't know anything of the person , I didn't say "oh maybe it was a muslim "
that would be baiting

but saying "what do YOU think he was, and what were his motives" then ppl would start speculating
that would be baiting

Indeed, that would be baiting, and I wasn't accusing you of directly doing so. Intentionally or not, that's usually the reasoning behind why information about the suspect tends to be withheld before motives are known.

A fair question, though it's not like an officer can be everywhere at once.

Domestic violence murder/suicide, so chances are that the shooter had been on campus before, and most likely victim didn't want to bring personal problems to work.

Actually, what redokami did was indeed baiting, and whatever she thinks her intention is is irrelevant. No one has access to her intention, as it's in her brain; what is important is the statement itself and what it does, because that's all we have access to. As you already said, qwueri, one does not have to mention or consider the demographics of the assailant in discussing what happened, though it is a natural question. But what actually makes this baiting is creating this thread in the first place - or, even better, that this is news in the first place. The pattern of "hear about attack - anticipate it being by a Muslim - clamor about terrorism" already exists, and this situation has already fallen into it. You already started speculating when you mentioned the question, redokami, for we (and society) are primed with answers beforehand. What does it do for us to discuss this situation on redokami's terms? Give credence to her formulation of the world, of which we already have experience. This thread is currently a placeholder for her anticipation that the attacker is Muslim. It would be difficult for it to function otherwise in American society.

Other than inference from Redokami's slip about not claiming the attacker was Muslim, there's very little to go on that doesn't assume intention. It's a national story from a town that was previously in the news, someone's bound to post about it and prime it with their own world views. Which is why anyone posting in a thread is just as likely to get their viewpoint picked at as well as the topic at hand.

Elementary Schools are rarely targeted. Most shooters are the students, most fights are between students. Quite possibly, Resource Officers do not show up at Elementary Schools. Cannot remember where my school had one personally.

I highly doubt it is a student, and less so a teacher.

When people from here here of a shooting in America they don't jump to terrorist attack they just jump to a nutter with a gun that unfortunately killed a bunch of people and it's a surprise (not a welcome one) if it's otherwise. I'm not saying what happened is good or wanted or called for but that's the views of someone outside looking in it's kind of ridiculous how often events like that happen and it's not even like all of them will be heard of.

I'm sorry if that opinion upsets people but it's the reality of what people think tragic still.

"Resource officer"? Is that the name for security guards where you live? (no offense) Where I live, there's at least 2 armed police officers at every school.
