Came into this series not knowing much, and despite nothing too flashy happening for most of the episode, I rather enjoyed it.
There's a plot hook, nice character chemistry, and a famous English song to boot - Scarborough Fair.

The opening scene was fairly tragic, though the series has to be careful about setting initial expectations. The first page of this thread indicates that this series is mostly about character development and life values, so that's what I'm going with instead of, say battle harem.

Given they revealed that future tragedy right from the get-go, a lot is now riding on how the series can make the characters endearing, so I hope they can do it in a natural way without feels baiting.

I think I'm going to enjoy this. The insert song was brilliantly performed, can anyone find it anywhere or tell me who sang it? And I don't mean the original version of the song, I mean the version sung within the episode.

Having read ahead for the LN, I'm just gonna say.

With the pacing now, ep 3 and 4 will rip out your hearts and stamp on them with golf shoes.

Ugh... knowing this is going to be a sad anime, I'm not sure I'm ready.

But hearing Scarborough Faire made me really happy.

Also the character designs are adorable.

I wonder the PV song will be used as a insert song for scenes other then the flash forward at the beginning of the first ep?

Saw it on TV earlier today.

Well, episode 2 gave more insights on this show's world.

The kids seems to like Willem even more now that while that maid continuously teases him.

This episode also shows a slightly darker side when one of the kids got injured during a game (which imo looked pretty bad..) We also got to see a glimpse of their fairy weapons which is pretty interesting. I feel like the pacing of this show is consistent while maintaining its atmospheric tone.

For what's worth, it also adds a little bit of comedy especially with Willem and Chtholly's relationship.

Episode 2

And life begins at the armory as those girls aren't exactly warming up to Willem off the bat. The truth about what those girls are is revealed as they were made as expendable weapons who don't fear death. Pretty sad lives those kids are living, and Willem is there to change all that. In the meantime, an attack by the timere is imminent, and Willem is fixing up Chtholly seeing that she's got poisoning. Pretty interesting insight to everything, and after hearing that story that this figures to have a roller coaster of emotion.

This continues to delight. Though I hope at some point soon we get an answer to how Willem survived for 500 years. And can it be a coincidence that a human has ended up with a vault full of swords that only humans and human-like creatures can use?
