What things do you do that make you feel like you've wasted your time? How often do to feel like you've wasted time? And what are your experiences with this sort of feeling?

As for myself, recently I've been feeling more and more like I've been wasting my time on things. An example is that I want to watch anime but I'll go play a game instead. And then feel like the time was wasted. The clear solution would be to go do things that I want to do but it always seems easier said than done. This feeling of wasting my time on things isn't pleasant. However, whenever I do eventually do the things I want to do I usually feel better and don't dwell too much on wasting time.

A common instance of me wasting my time is that I seem to be slow on making a choice of what to do depending on the day. Sometimes I will make choices instantly like I'll decide to watch an anime and then go from there. Other days however I'll be so unsure on what to do that by the time I make a choice so much time has gone and been wasted.

So what things do you do that make you feel live you've wasted your time?

My whole existence feels like a waste of time and I don't know what I can do about it other than whine.

I make anime / game props for fun, and I'd say I waste a lot of time staring at them as I work. It's kind of frustrating in a way, since I know there's still more work to be done, but I'll stare and stare and stare for a long while, tear something apart which wasn't working.. then resume staring thinking about the next step.

When I actually start building, I'm pretty fast, but as I'm working on the prototype version of something, staring at it wastes probably 80% of my overall time.

Not sure there's a good fix, other than someone prodding you to keep moving, either someone you know or online or whatever else. Me, I'm still spending hours staring at things, heh. It's just for fun anyway, I'm not that worried.

Yeah ... I have felt like the last 5 or more years have largely been a waste of time...but the thing is I am so past ruining my life that i'm not sure I can un-ruin it or make it good enough to be acceptable ... or if it's even worth trying to.

Hmmm.

Disneyland is the one place where I feel like i'm never wasting my time lol

Also if an anime or game doesn't instantly grab me and sometimes even albums I feel like I'm wasting my time ... which is why I complete so few anime

Everything is a waste of time if you think about it. The question is, how do you want to waste your time?

I play a crap ton of games, watch anime, and spend my money on anime, manga, and video games.

But, this stuff is fun in my to me. I don't care about going to clubs or sleeping with a new chick every night, that's not my style(even if I had the option to, i would decline).

My enjoyments, and school are my life. And once i'm done with medical school and i'm a physician, I'll have even more money to collect stuff

*me and my collection are forever alone*

oh and the moral of my post is I don't have any specific wastes of time. I do everything I do for a reason whether it conscious or sub.

Why do you feel like you're wasting your time? Using your anime/game example, if you want to watch anime and play a game instead, if you're having fun playing it then what's the problem? If you start playing a game and then get bored or aren't enjoying yourself, switch to watching anime.

I would try not to get too hung up on the thought that you're wasting your time. If you're having fun, it's not wasted. Not everything you do has to be productive!

I'm very familiar with the feeling of thinking about a decision for too long and finding it time wasted. Similarly if I have to spend a lot of time looking for something before I can do what I want to do, or just have to wait for any reason or when I'm very inefficient with something and realize I could have done the thing much quicker that feels like wasted time.

That's about it, as long as I can get everything I need to do done, I don't think about it too much.

I think becoming an adult is about accepting that a large percentage of the time that a person spends between activities is real life--as in, that wasted time is your real life right there. When that acceptance came for me, I was able to realize what I was and wasn't capable of, and planned accordingly.

I think many people try to mislead other people about the meaning of this "wasted" time and use that to convince you to do things or spend money, so as to "waste" less time. I think only people that have had the momentum of their life stall--that is, not to be sure about what the next step of life will be--can in fact use this "wasted" time well: to calm down, take another look at the problems in that person's life, and decide on what to do next. Some people are lucky though, and make it through this phase without it marking them on the outside, while some people have to deal with more cosmetic abnormality because of what life dealt them. I think I'm one of the luckier ones.

Well, I've come to the conclusion that most social media is a waste of time. Said offenders include reddit, twitter, and facebook. Especially if you like to argue with people. My internet policy is just to post and have fun.

Well since I haven't left the house and really had fun in the last 6 years I feel that is a big waste and I hate it but I don't know how to change so I will probably waste the rest of my life away as well *sigh*

I seldom feel as if I have wasted my time on something unless it was boring and I truly forced myself to do such. Although, a common one is when I drive somewhere rather distant from where I'm currently staying and whatever it was ends up being unamusing, that's a poor feeling.

Of course, there are also epoch's and seasons in which I realize that I haven't accomplished much that is formidable, or things will be rather unsatisfying, however those contrasting moments seem to be some that magnify those of value, and I also develop a keen-sense as to what sort of predicaments I should avoid.
