Episode 1

It's nice to be back with this show, and to tell the story about how Ais came to be so revered. As with other Sentai shows on Anime Strike, it's frustrating that the on-screen text is left untranslated.

In any case, it's nice to be back with this show, albeit telling things from a different perspective. Ais has a pretty interesting assortment of fighters in her familia. Alf sure is badass there with that spell. Seeing that I am rewatching the original series having just received the BD that I remember that all this is happening before the first episode of Danmachi when Ais saved Bell from being minotaur mincemeat.

Episode 1

Well this episode bought back the familiar feeling of the series I remember before.

The main characters were introduced (with some of their levels). Animation and quality remains generally the same as the original series. There's no some fan service in this but I'm not really bothered by them. The Hiryute twins were probably most guilty of this.

I like the fantasy and adventurous feel of this episode and it jumped right into the show without wasting much time. Nice to see Bete in this as well (his voice is so recognizable tbh). Action wise, it felt like DanMachi again. Aiz is still quite a badass and Bete is still a jerk lol.

Ohhhhhh boy, it's back and straight into some glorious action and...tentacles
I got some chills when I heard Bell screaming - some epic moments back in Season 1 came flooding back to me. I don't really remember too much, but the dungeon appears to be evolving for the worse.

I know Lefiya is a newbie and all but like Bell in the beginning, it's hard not to get frustrated at them, especially when you're getting heavily carried by an A Team. Riveria shows how it's done with the Mother of All Blasts - cheeky solo exp grab there. She can slay me too.

Most importantly of all, Aiz best girl - gief more of her and her solo boss kills.

not nearly as interesting as the first season. First season followed a relative no-name as he progressed upwards. This season seems to just show the same events but from the perspective of a character who is basically invincible. I don't really see where the stakes will be coming from.

As soon as I saw the Minotaurs moving up, I could tell it was going to be where Aiz saved Bell and I recognized that manly scream anywhere.

It should be interesting to see things from Aiz' POV, especially since I heard Bell only gets cameos so it's mostly new adventures we haven't seen.

Attention seeking hyperbolic statement generalizing the entire season based on 2min of the first episode.

or

It was a good start but a bit heavy on the "plot" IMO, which wasn't even needed.

The premiere had a refresher take over Aiz's first encounter with Bell but takes it up a notch with the Loki Familia's dungeon adventures. Love their solid teamwork and Aiz's leadership skills

I was super excited for this but they did not stick to the original source material at all

The Danmachi anime cut out plenty of stuff but volume 1 was for the most part very well converted into the anime.

Here we have episode one of the spin off which covers all the way up to 50% of volume 1 but leaves out over 25% of the first half.

I blame myself for being excited.

Ehh not as good as the original, the lame problem of the elf girl not being able to finish her spell was lame and contrived. Rather would have seen Ais' problem they kept hinting at.
