I had a big drop in battery life in the past week or two. The android settings shows it as being due to crunchyroll, and sure enough, if I remember to "Force Stop" the app after I'm done watching something, then my battery life returns back to normal.

Has anyone else seen this? It's on a 3rd generation Moto G running Android 6.0

Yes. It used 30% of my battery today while at work. Pretty annoying. And it is not the first time. I have absolutely have no idea on how to debug such an issue on android.

It also used 150 megs of background cellular data. For what purpose? I have no idea. I din't use the app since I last watched a show last Wednesday.

i'm not familiar with android, but on iOS there's an option called "background app refresh". there's probably something similar on android - check and make sure it's off for Crunchyroll.

You can disable background data in Android 7.1.x by going to Apps > select the CR app > Data Usage > deselect Background data.
