I got to be honest here. I hate recommending things to people. It makes me a little uncomfortable doing so.

I rather not recommend anything to a friend or family member OR even to a total stranger that I am getting friendly with. Not to sound mean but I think it's best if the person find what they are looking for on their own. Or maybe ask someone else to help them. I've felt this way for some time.

Here's an example of what I mean:

Person A: So, I hear you like the anime One Piece?

Me: Yeah, it's pretty good.

Person A: Really? Do you think I would like would like One Piece?

Me: Don't know.

Person A; Well, is it something you would recommend to me?

Me: No! If you want to watch One Piece, watch it for yourself. Not because someone told you it was good.

Person A: .............

What do you think? Have you ever not liked recommending things

(be right back with more changes later)

I have the opposite problem, I don't like it when someone else recommends me stuff. They have this impression that I might like the same thing as them, and then they have the expectation that I'll talk to them about how much I liked it.

On the other hand, I sometimes watch stuff just because I heard about it from someone, because I know their opinion on it, NOT because they recommended it to me.

I can't say I feel the same when someone asks me to recommend something, but I almost never know what to recommend. Most of the people I talk to have different tastes compared to me.

When people recommend me things, I try it out for a bit then I stop and find something else. When the person ask me if I liked it or not, I'll tell them I will either makes excuses or find some way to tell them the truth.

People don't ask me to recommend them something or they don't recommend me anything much.

When people ask me what is a series I enjoy, I tell them. If they ask for a recommendation, I don't do that because I refuse to be held accountable for others' stupidity.

I like recomending things.
Ive watched a lot of anime and Im open to most genra so I can make recomendations based on the person. I realize they may not like it but its so satisfying when they do and ask for more

I enjoy recommending things but based on what the other person is looking for but add 'You might like these' or 'Maybe these?' to emphasize that I don't know if they will enjoy them but they have what they are looking for.

As for recommending stuff for a friend, I make it a point not to recommend anime that I really, really love because I don't want to fight with a friend over them. If the anime was a so-so, then it's fine since I like discussions but if it's one of my super duper favorites, I'd rather not hate either my friend or the anime itself just because of differing opinions.

As for recommending things to me, it depends. I usually research on what anime others are talking about before making a decision.

nope, I can make recommendations all day. I can make them baed on my opinion or my perception of that person's tastes.

I recommend, but I also ask they give me their feedback afterward. I like to hear other opinions.

I can relate to this :D

On the other hand if its not related to anime, i hate recommending food places to people since most people i know tend to eat the same shit and have a problem with exploring a wider range of tastes.......i mean who complains about sushi being raw in 2017...................................

No.

I actually consider all recommendation that are suitable towards my tastes.

People I have met, either online or offline, It's surprising to know that I was introduced to a lot of new music. A few anime here and there, and other videos and animation. Granted that I actually have great taste, and Most of it is based on Emotion, Feeling, and repetition ( temperament of a Drummer)

If there Is one thing I am truly blessed with, That would be Good Taste ( Just dont expect much from my cooking ) Everything else, whether it be, Drawing, Or music, Just simply Art in its entirety.

You cant force me to like something. I come across many new ideas everyday, and I find these hidden Gems that try to be different.

I'm not easily impressed, and I will be soo critical towards everything I watch and listen to.

The key to a recommendation. If there is no repetition ( Lacks the ability to watch, Listen, and play it again and again. There can be no value in that recommendation.

For example. A video I just came across not to long ago. Its over the top, because once you watch it once, you need to watch it again, and again to analyze it. The music is catchy and it grabs you, the video is Fresh, Different, Symbolic. and wild. I'm a huge metal head, and I love music from the 80's, but Im also a drummer, and this is where I get my Rhythm from. I can find it in all Music I listen to, but I have to be able to listen to it on Repeat

This is what I mean by good taste.

You can take it or leave it, but this is how you gain a following. You recommend the things that Find you first Once you have earned the ability to see the Value in something, you take that, and you never let go

This is a weird hate

I mean it's pretty fun to recommend and get recommended anime.

Oh I also like to hear their opinion afterwards too.

I think it's pretty antisocial to hate recommending or getting recommendations.

It doesn't have to be anime. It can be anything. I don't like recommending it to people.

Sorry was assuming anime, since you know it's crunchyroll.

but regardless it'd be the same if it was any other recommendations too, still fun.
