Spreading the news and looking for input from others interested in attending ANIME PDX.

I recently committed to the ANIME PDX kickstarter, and I'm excited for this summer anime con coming to PDX this July, shortly after Gearcon. This con is brought to us by the same crew that does Newcon, a broad ranging geeky convention for all kinds of genres and fandoms. I'm local, so it's easy to get myself down to Crown Plaza in downtown PDX, but I'm wondering how far spread the attendee base is for this new con. Are you planning to go, or do you have interest?

Portland is a hot spot for anime freaks, of course, and it's the birthplace and homeland of our beloved Kumoricon that hits every autumn. I'm hoping that a summer anime con here will bring out even greater crowds, since student attendees won't have to worry about school. With the highly successful kickstarter, there are bound to be some pro level events happening, despite it being a brand new con. Maybe they can even set up a Crunchyroll affiliation. What do you think of all this?

:D

You can count me as a future attendee! I had no idea this was a thing, and would not have, save for your post. Thank you, I will definitely be checking this event out.

That's cool, I didn't know about this. I'll have a friend or 3 from out of town visiting that weekend so I wouldn't be able to make it this year, but maybe next year. Summer con means less worry about shivering or getting rained on in your costume- plus! I hope it does well.
