WASHINGTON -- CBS News has learned that a manhunt is underway for a traitor inside the Central Intelligence Agency.

The CIA and FBI are conducting a joint investigation into one of the worst security breaches in CIA history, which exposed thousands of top-secret documents that described CIA tools used to penetrate smart phones, smart televisions and computer systems.

Sources familiar with the investigation say it is looking for an insider -- either a CIA employee or contractor -- who had physical access to the material. The agency has not said publicly when the material was taken or how it was stolen.

Much of the material was classified and stored in a highly secure section of the intelligence agency, but sources say hundreds of people would have had access to the material. Investigators are going through those names.

So, er. This new Tom Clancy novel is really good.

Seriously though, it was an internal breach? Wow.

All the leaks for the past year and a half have been insiders. Where have you been?

Erm, there's a pretty big difference between anonymous source tip offs and a physical security breach inside the CIA.

There's a reason you're still after Snowden and not unnamed official #47.

A lot of issues we have stem from people allowing so much information to be controlled in the first place. I mean, people think being watched will make us safer, but honestly that's not always true. Increasing security or cameras in a hallway won't necessarily stop a crime from happening, and a lot of people are unfairly prosecuted because people jump to conclusions based on looks/histories/religions ect - which they spy from those same cameras.

Being watched is just as unsafe as having no surveillance, which is exactly the problem here. I'm not even sure if there IS a happy medium, anymore -.-

Thats because the leakers get shot in the head.

His name is Seth Rich. An American and a patriot:

He released the DNC files after he could no longer handle knowing about all of the corruption. He was set to speak to congress about the DNC files and was shot in the back of the head twice during a "robbery" where nothing was stolen and an investigation was called off.

It would be nice if you could make it more than 3 posts into a discussion without randomly bringing up a conspiracy theory.

Also, might want to update your conspiracy theory as it looks like its shifted to Russia killed him because he discovered their hacking of the DNC. =p

Meanwhile the DNC refused to allow the FBI to investigate their servers and find the "hack". Kind of odd they wouldn't let the FBI perform a free vulnerabilities check if the Russians really did hack into it. The FBI investigating this type of thing is normal but they must get permission from the "hacked".

Well since the DNC didn't let the FBI investigate the "hack" I suppose they can keep crying RUSSIA till people believe it.

So, to summarize your beliefs here:

The conspiracy theory based on a misquote of Assange ( which he immediately corrected ) and forwarded by a GOP operative is true because it fits my fantasies.

The conspiracy theory from a different GOP operative on the same topic is false because it does not fit my fantasies.

The fantasy world I live in doesn't include every US intelligence agency as well as several allied ones confirming Russia's interference in the election.

That about sum it up?

Your trying so hard to discredit me by claiming conspiracy while at the same time pushing the Russian conspiracy. You must miss the cold war so badly your making up delusions about Russia.

Say it with me. The cold war is over! Putin preferring one candidate over another is not a Russian conspiracy.

If the DNC was not lying and manipulating, the Russians would of had nothing to release, except fake-news which they release anyways. The DNC is upset at the Russians because they were embarrassed by what the Russians did, if this happened to the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) the Democrats would not be as strident and probably happy the injustice was exposed.

(If it was the RNC the Democrats would still be having orgasms)

Didn't Obama meddle in Israel's last election? He failed, but he still funneled money to the opposition party. That seems worse than hacking a few computers.

The man said the same lie over and over enough that they convinced the German people that Jews were evil. It works and he wrote the book on practical applications of it.

Now the Dems are doing g that with Russia. Surprised the Dems aren't lynching anyone that looks Russian yet.

Not sure. Right now there is no proof of Russian hacking. Especially since the DNC never allowed the FBI to investigate their servers so they could find evidence. At this point the Dems are just saying "the Russians did it, believe it!".
