Well my paper on water sustainability on campuses was recently sent to the sustainability department of my university where it will, if the faculty follows the plan outlined in the paper, help the university save countless litres of water annually as well as large quantities of money.

I have some used motor oil that I may dump down a storm drain to celebrate.

I will wipe without paper, not use water, take the bus so I won't use any fuel. Today will be a beautiful day and helping the planet survive even a bit will make me feel good about myself.

I plan to make the scientific community better by staying as far away as I possibly can from everything related to this day.

Wow. You've found the one situation in which I'd rather stand behind Trump.

If you've ever seen the PBS documentary on Earth Day, people back in 1968 DID NOT KNOW what it was, when there was the big petition for it.

Those in the Hippie movement had gotten behind their own new progressive awarenesses of air pollution, water pollution, overpopulation, endangered species were just becoming a thing, and we all started saying that we couldn't use NASA to escape the planet--But since they couldn't get organized, they were all separate movements, so they all got swept under the big misdirected-anger banner of "It's all the fault of those big corporate fatcats over 30", and they went back to trying to form that New Society Without Personal Possessions, again...
When the back-to-nature movement of the Whole Earth Catalog started spreading the "Save the planet" message, and Earth Day was proposed, Conservative congressmen literally thought that the movement to tell industries to cut back on pollution-footprint was some "secret plot" to destabilize capitalism by hobbling the corporations.

I'm guessing DJT is old enough to remember those days, he certainly looks it.

Happy Lenin's Birthday!

Yeah, there was a reason the 22nd was chosen.

And one of the founders did live up to the Earth Day ideals by killing and composting his girlfriend.

I use no herbicides, don't water my lawn, no fertilizer, I have a rain barrel and grow a bunch if fruit in my back yard. Why should I celebrate earthday just one day out of the year? Praise be to Gaia!

I also have a couple properties I've given back to nature and has been overtaken by nature.
