I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this. I just signed up for the one week trial of Vrv, but for some reason I cannot play any videos. I'm greeted with a black screen and no video player. I will include a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

This happens on every channel, every show/movie, every episode. I can use youtube and such just fine. I'm using the latest version of the Chrome browser. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For VRV support see their FAQ, and if you still need assistance, use their contact form:

FAQ: https://help.vrv.co/hc/en-us

contact form: https://help.vrv.co/hc/en-us/requests/new

(BTW, your image ID was messed up. I'm not sure why your name was missing, so I added that, but we do have an issue with an extraneous $ getting added, so that needed to be removed).

VRV uses adobe flash, and Chrome disables flash by default due to being vulnerable and deprecated.
you'll need to enable flash to see the videos, as well as for all the tracking cookies to work. as for Youtube, it's owned by Google, so it's likely white-listed by default (Youtube also tried to play content in html 5 if possible)

VRV's web player is HTML5, and based on the same beta player CR is developing.

idk, that's what their privacy policy says

maybe not flash player, but you'll still need to enable flash to make it work. unless the privacy page is outdated somehow.

That looks like boilerplate text to me that is trying to cover multiple bases, and doesn't necessarily mean all the technologies listed are in use.

Have you compared it to CR's privacy policy?

I would not be surprised if it were lifted verbatim, including references to technology that is not in use.

As to requiring Flash, even with CR, the only time I have to use a Flash-enabled browser is when I want to view a video or manga. When I am doing anything else, I use Firefox, for which I don't even have the Flash plug-in installed. (Unlike Chrome and Edge, Firefox doesn't include Flash).

None of that stuff on my toolbar is open except steam and Chrome, but it doesn't work with Steam closed either. Flash is already enabled in chrome, I've tried Microsoft Edge, didn't work there either. I have not been able to watch a single video this entire trial and will not be purchasing a subscription because I obviously wouldn't be able to use it.

I contacted customer support days ago and have heard nothing. I'm incredibly frustrated. This seems like a cool service but only if it works.

There is no Flash involved in the video playback on VRV.

Are you blocking scripts there? You seem to have Ghostery on in your browser for VRV. Try switching that off.
