So until Monday I think a standard 25 min episode in 1080p was using upto 500-800 MB of bandwidth. Now one episode is taking about 1200-1300 MB. I have a roku4 and experienced the same issue with Funimation about 2 months ago. Is this the new encoding being put into effect or something because this much bandwidth use makes anything in 1080p unwatchable.

Maybe they should shift to x265 for 1080p?

Size of the video depends on its content. 1300 Mb is within expectations for a 1080p encode.

Only a small percentage of hardware among the user base has the ability to perform hardware accelerated decoding of h.265.
