Wendy's PR guy has finally managed to force their new shtick of them being the "sassy anime girl" that now people have just accepted, and in fact embraced, them. Even going so far as to make fan art for Wendy's now

Examples,

this gag even got it's own KYM page http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/smug-wendys

Seriously Amy Brown deserves an award or something for "Most Compelling Social Media Campaign" or something. The scale this has gone to is impressive, even Plagueofgripes made some art for them. A round of applause is in order.

EDIT 1: Wow this thread grew quickly overnight (do you people ever sleep lol). Also all the Wendy's pics and profiles are highly amusing. Let's see just how far we can take this

So that's why a certain artist who specializes in ruining everyone's childhood was doing a version of Wendy.

I liked this one...

Image was too big, it cut half of the image out. So I posted the link, instead.

It made me think of a PvP fighting game, when you're picking your character.

Looking through that KYM set of images, poor Dave Thomas is rolling in his grave. And I'm rolling in the floor laughing.

It's either the creeping fratboyism that's sunk into ALL of advertising after a generation of rich college kids fast-tracked themselves out of college and into the agencies without growing up,
-or-
Wendy's, once the "prestige" fast-food place of the 90's, has given in and decided that fast-food's biggest core demographic is still the White Castle Late-Night Munchies crowd...

But when did Wendy's decide to turn its campaigns so "hip", Internet-juvenile and obnoxious? Was it when they got the guy on that snarky Twitter account? And seriously, who still eats at McDonald's anyway? (We don't even see white males in McD ads anymore!)
McDonald's almost destroyed themselves trying to create a "grownup" image when they wanted their Arch Deluxe to compete with the Wendy's burger, is Wendy's now trying to avoid the image of being "Your parents' upscale Yuppie fast-food" since Burger King tried to be late-night hipper?

(All I want is a place for drive-in lunch without being embarrassed, sheesh!)

If your getting embarrassed by eating at a fast food joint then you've got bigger issues than that clown.

No, I like fast food--I'm embarrassed that my dollars are supporting obnoxious juvenile advertising campaigns.
I've only recently gone back to Burger King now that they've retired the hip-random "Mask Guy" ads.
(And I never did go back to Twix bars after boycotting "Two For Me, None For You", and that was, what, twenty years ago?)

Remember: If you eat Snickers bars or use Geico insurance, you are financing advertising-terrorists.

I notice that these ads or whatever make me physically ill. Is that a desired effect?
