I don't watch most anime that are more than 25 episodes, so I have no clue what the new "big three" are.

It's big three series. So its anime or manga.

Have you read The Promised Neverland? I'm starting to wonder why it is in Shounen Jump.

Never heard of it and the thing is, I have no interest in everyday, generic or half-hearted shounen crap.

Esper Mami? horrible and poorly drawn

Evangelion? used to like it, but I don't care anymore (the storyline is nowhere nearly as deep as the BattleTech stuff, which has better concept of war/conflict than people fighting aliens in mechs)

Plawres Sanshiro? mediocre old sports anime

Inuyasha? crap-quality animation

Naruto, Bleach & One Piece? used to like them, but again, I don't care anymore

Attack on Titan? whatever!

Dragonball Super has bought Dragonball back, One Piece is still going so maybe there is one slot left I guess Attack on Titan goes in that slot since it's become so popular or My Hero Academia since it's a jump title. These shows have a large appeal hence their popularity.

People pulling out stuff like Saga of Tanya the Evil are having a laugh, it's an obscure anime aimed at a small audience that has no staying power or major appeal. It will fade away with a cult following like things such as Ergo Proxy and Gosick.

Besides the fact that they were all long running and in shonen jump, not much tied the Big Three together.
They were arguably not even that great compared to its contemporaries. What about Reborn? FMA? Other popular shonen series that fit into the same category that didn't get included? If it's just shonen jump successors, there are plenty.

Is there even a need for a series to go on that long? Bleach showed us how destructive milking a series past is potential can be.
We don't need a new big three. I'll tell you what we need. We need more short well made series that last decades! Something earth shattering the way Akira and Cowboy Bebop are!

Boruto
One Piece
??? - Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, maybe? As long as there's more anime coming, then yes.

Shengeki no kyoujin most probably, but if anything I think maybe sword art online might be one of the big three, its kinda obvious, but it could possibly be an anime we have never heard of before, might be a new one.

Are the big three big like massive, big like popular, or big like well-known?

Because Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach all have the trifecta on that. There are hundreds of episodes, they have huge devoted fanbases, and even if you don't like them you have still watched them.

It is arguable that they also have a fourth quality: they are quite frequently the first anime people ever watched.

And even if a series ends, it doesn't necessarily lose any of those things.

Not really the "new" Big Three if One Piece is still there.

One piece is still going to continue for a long time, there are many things that still need to happen in the anime.

Considering "The Big Three" were all manga in shonen jump, doesn't it have to be a manga in shonen jump first?

"The Big 3" sounds like a concept that just encompasses One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach.

Trying to throw in all of these new series that people are mentioning in this topic doesn't feel right. I mean is Sword Art Online even an actual series? I thought there were two anime seasons and that was it... That's got absolutely nothing on One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach. Throwing in 'short' series doesn't feel right.

More or less, though I'm more of an action comedy fanboy. I just don't like shounen that much (Dragon Ball counts, but it's a cool series). Silent Mobius is like the only shounen manga series with really cool female characters like Kiddy and the rest of the other chicks. Where as in Ushio to Tora, the female characters are so damn shallow and fawn over the male character (sounds kind of like the early episodes of Naruto when the shallow female characters like Sakura or Ino fall deeply in love with Sasuke).
