Apparently, I am a bit shallow to not date someone who shared a similar name to one of my older sisters. It is just that, as hot as the unrelated girl can be, conjuring images of either my sisters with a similar sounding name is a complete erection killer. Like, I cannot consummate thinking about them.

What about you?

The act of dating, and of course, the essential bedding of a romantic interest who has the same first name as someone in your immediate family.

I thought it was a common problem for people with siblings. Though I do have some issues with my siblings that go beyond knowing them.

I mention sex, as one may be inclined to scream out their lovers name ("Oh Peripheral Nii Sama, it feels so good!"), but then one says the name, they are reminded of a family member, and it all goes downhill from there.

I wouldn't have any problem with that.

But then, I dislike all but one of my relatives. So I'm not close to them. The one I like is just a baby, and I was the one who named her (Mum never liked picking names; the doctor named me). I obviously like her name, so I'd be with a girl with that name 100%! For the relatives I dislike, since I'm consequently not close to them I'd probably associate their names more with the new people than with the relatives.

dunno. never had that problem, though it might be creepy if they have the same name as my dad or uncle... not too sure about my cousin cuz i doubt many people are named 'Zigford' lol. mind you someone mentioned once he looked like James Steward and now i can't find James Stewart attractive in any scene of the word.

I couldn't say one way or another, but don't you think it'd be weirder if they had the same name as you?

I think that would be funny if we kept calling each other the same name.
Though the closest I ever got was dating 3 girls who all had the same name and oddly enough two fo them the same middle name.

Stephanie Jessica
Stefani Jessica (Her name was pronounced diffrently in dutch though.
