This is fantastic news. It's always great to see anime doing well but when it gets big successes like these over here it's a particularly great treat. I figure this could lead to more anime films being shown in theaters which would be awesome even though we would still probably have to wait a year for them to come out over here.

More anime films in movie theaters would give me an even bigger reason to go to them, meet new anime fans perhaps. And, if the money helped the anime industry that is / would be cool. I'll be honest, I haven't seen "Your Name", but since it seemed to do very good, I guess thats a really good step for anime in NA.

Off topic:Did not know this was a thing.

On topic:I'm glad that it's doing well here in NA but I haven't seen it yet. I might go down to my local theater and see it for myself. I'm not sure how good a body swap anime movie can be because all that I've ever seen with body swap animes are cringy/awkward scenes that make me not want to watch it.
