We're our parent's children, no matter how old. Unless the coddling is unusually extreme, there's no real reason, other than ego, to make a big deal out of it. Why try and "prove" being an adult to our parents, when we just are? If we're adults, we're adults; just bear in mind that we have a dual existence as our parents' kids. They don't have to justify our maturity. That's our personal business, not anyone else's.
