So about four months ago, this popped up on the formula 1 subreddit. It was cool to see the beginnings of an F1 manga.

It looks like it actually got an update, but still doesn't have much there yet, sadly. Thought I'd share anyways.

An F1 manga? Nice!

I'm just about to hit the hay but will check this out tomorrow - thanks for sharing

This is amazing! Great find and I will definitely be following. Thanks for sharing! Plus, it's got girls. Win-win! Hopefully development keeps up and it becomes something big. For as popular as auto racing in general is in Japan, we don't see a lot of racing anime/manga, especially recently.

This manga reminds me a bit of the old racing manga "Capeta". It's about karting but has a lot of F1 inspiration including the main character wanting to become an F1 driver. Unfortunately, neither the manga nor anime it never made it to English sub/dub translation. It did have some cool cover art though...but the art didn't have anything to do with the story and featured the main character older than he was in the series.

And yes, the main character has a pet monkey...*facepalm*

I'm pretty sure it's manga/anime law that all race drivers have pet monkeys.

It's a shame it never saw translation. If I hadn't scrubbed out of Japanese back in college, maybe I'd be able to actually do something useful like translate. And yea, speaking of women drivers, I'd love to see another female driver on the grid. The last serious contender we had was Susie Wolff, but her and Toto had to go and want to start a family (/sarcasm, nothing but respect for people who want to start a fam).

I hope to see more diversity hit the grid in the future. Really wish karting (ie money) wasn't such a barrier to youths getting into racing though.

Lol, I think so!

Indeed, I really would've loved to see a translation of this one. I also took some Japanese a while back but didn't keep up with it. I'd love to get back into someday. And then maybe I could do something useful with this hobby too.

I would love to see a female driver too, it would be so good for the sport. Hahaha Susie was so close! Proof that having kids ruins EVERYTHING (also sarcasm lol, nothing but respect). Simona de Silvestro also looked like she might get a shot with Sauber but that didn't pan out either. One of the things I really love about auto racing is the fact that both men and women can compete together.

I hope so too. I used to be able to name quite a bit of GP2 (F2 now I guess lol) drivers but I couldn't name one now. I think it's because so few of them make it to F1, they don't seem to generate the kind of excitement they used to. Maybe that's just me and I don't follow it closely enough.

Very true. Once long ago, I thought I would've loved to be a racecar driver. But we never had the money and it is ridiculously expensive, even at the lowest entry level kart racing or dirt track racing. It's a tremendous barrier. And when you think about F1, the only kids that ever come up through the ranks are ones from wealthy families. It's a shame, I think.

They should make an anime about Maldonado. Put some Wolff fanservice in it to spice things up.
