Aria is probably the most relaxing imo, though Non Non Biyori and Natsume are also pretty chill.

Spice and Wolf. You can't beat Spice and Wolf when it comes to calm and relaxing (at least for me).

I agree with all of the suggestions(except for the ones I don't know). I would add AMANCHU and YUYUSHIKI. The three Yu's of yuyushiki often squabble and tease, but you know they are the best of friends.

Non Non Biyori and Tanaka-kun is Always Listless immediately come to mind. Whenever I watch Non Non Biyori, I feel like I'm on a relaxing on a hammock and enjoying a nice breeze. In the initial episodes, Tanaka-kun was almost too relaxed; to the point where it nearly lulled me sleep numerous times. The series does get more lively as the cast expanded, but Tanaka himself continues to be the embodiment of relaxation and listlessness. Special mentions to the following series: Encouragement of Climb, Flying Witch, and K-On!!

Natsume Yuujinchou and Amanchu can be very relaxing, but then they also have highly emotional episodes.

Ditto. It was the first anime that came to mind when I saw the thread title.

I can't decide between Non, Non, Biyori, Flying Witch and Interviews with Monster Girls.. All three or chill and fun and very relaxing. Sweetness and Lighting follows close behind. Oh and Amanchu gets high marks too.

Amanchu

You and Me (Kimi to Boku) is another series I'd recommend. Everyday life with occasional goofiness around a group of high school friends.

Aria has to win, hands down. With Aria you can spend 22 minutes drifting around in your gondola, listen to the Undine sing an aria (pun intended), and stop along the way to pick flowers or stop at a bakery or baked potato stand.

The most relaxing is Mushi-shi. I literally only watch it now at nights to put me to sleep (it works)
Flying Witch is really nice to, and Sweetness & Lightning. You can try an old Miyazaki film like Whisper of the Heart.
I'm watching Aria now and found the first episodes kind of boring.. but it's on disc so I'm committed now. Didn't like Non Non Biyori.
By the same author as Aria is Amanchu!, which is kind of relaxing I guess, mostly it just makes you cry

Tanaka-kun Is Always Listless. Never seen anything more relaxing than that. Lots of stuff seems to happen, but doesn't really. Or, it's the other way around. Your brain gets so relaxed that you don't even care.

Tanaka-kun is also probably the laziest character ever written. His friend carries him around half the time because he's too lazy to walk. I aspire to be Tanaka-kun some day!

By pure chance I found an anime that after each episode I feel totally relaxed.

Natsume Yujin-cho

If you are having a bad day just watch one episode. There is an over arching story. Each episode has its own story like old cartoons so I just watch an episode once in awhile.

Natsume gets me every time too! Sensei's voice trends to break that dazed spell; not in a bad way, just helps to refocus.
