He told NBC's "Sunday Today": "I believe it's really important to hear directly from our leadership. I believe it's really important to hold them accountable. And I believe it's really important to have conversations out in the open rather than have them behind closed doors.

"If we were all to suddenly take these platforms away, where does it go? What happens? It goes in the dark, and I just don't think that's good for anyone."

good.

Hum. Yeah, it'd be crazy if Twitter decided to ban Trump. Though it'd also be within their rights, I imagine.

I don't know how feasible this is, but I'd be happy if Congress passed a law banning Trump from tweeting. His tweets hurt national security.

I don't recall anyone ever mentioning trump getting banned from twitter. Hardly think stating the obvious is news.

Twitter isn't the government. It can ban whoever it wants.

So, in your opinion, a private company is not allowed to choose who is allowed the privilege of using its product? How are you defining "right" here?

So it's ok to shadow ban no-bodies from twatter but not the president. Ok once again Twatter has shown it only cares about well known people and wants to fuck everyone else over!

That's a BS excuse. If he's breaching national security that's a crime. If he does that charge him with something specific.

Libs just don't like him communicating directly with the people and want to take this media platform away from him.

They love it when they can hold a press conference and march out a bunch of liberal reporters to accuse him of everything under the sun. Nope. I would rather he stay on Twitter. They can't obfuscate or twist around his tweets.

I think most "libs" love Donald using twitter. It's great fodder, and gives everyone an opportunity to see how idiotic he is, it's hilarious to see him contradict himself so often.

I like this one:

"President Obama, do not attack Syria," he wrote on September 7, 2013, one of more than 50 tweets to that effect. "There is no upside and tremendous downside. Save your 'powder' for another (and more important) day!"
President Obama, do not attack Syria. There is no upside and tremendous downside. Save your "powder" for another (and more important) day!

Yeah. If obama had let Assad take control of Syria millions of muslim refugees wouldn't have swarmed into Europe to escape the ongoing civil war.

Now Trump has to clean up the mess. Thanks obama.

The president ought to understand that repeated, unfiltered public statements like tweets allow foreign powers to analyse his psyche. This is dangerous - and incredibly stupid.

It used to be that we held people to standards of decency and honor.

I think she is referring to a moral right, rather than establishing a legal precedent for everyone to follow. Such as being owed an apology for a significant slight, which is not legally enforceable, but can be argued for one to have a moral claim to ones acknowledgement of said slight. At least, that is what I hope it is.

That being said, Twitter already bans "citizens" by the thousands per hour, so I feel the slope argument is both moot and reversed.
