Hi guys, i'm Brandon Jay. I'm kind of a newbie to art and i've been practcing a lot, trying to get better. I recently bought a graphics tablet, and i've been working with it for about a week now and made my first drawing that i'm not embarrassed enough to hide lol :P

So the plan with this topic is just to be kind of a journey, weeks, months, years? I dunno, but every time I make something I think is reasonably better then my first enough to post i'll post here, and over time if anyone is interested you can be along with me as I get better.

Any tips would be appreciated and i'd love to see your guys stuff too

That's certainly not bad for a self-proclaimed "newbie". I will say that the clothes make it a bit tough to critique because it makes it hard to see the figure. As someone who isn't spectacular at perspective, I've been drawing without clothes until I get perspectives down. Clothes can kind of be a crutch if used right to disguise imperfections.

It's kind of like playing guitar with a lot of distortion. It makes it harder to hear what's really going on below all of the extra stuff.

I've been focusing a lot on the human figure recently. Websites like quick poses and line of action are very useful for gesture and body studies. I'm a newbie to clothing as well. I generally draw a lot of figures nude so I can practice the anatomy first.
