for running- what is the ideal brand ?

quite a few users recommended Asics shoes

I tried Asics but found out that the Gel Contend 3 i bought is kind of hard on my feet. I had pain at the proximal phalanx after the one mile run.

I'm using Sketcher, FILA, Kirkland and Asics so far.. I think FILA is more comfortable for me

it's pretty odd when $20 shoes are more comfortable than $50+ shoes

btw is this a good running shoes ? it's on sale right now + 30% off and free shipping so about $26+ tax (free shipping)

I'm a huge fan of Saucony - especially their walking shoes (Omni Walker? I think that's what they're called). I used to always go for Rockport shoes until their quality started to decline... drastically. New Balance and Sketchers are my "disposable shoes" - the shoes I wear in-between the good pairs that I'm trying to make last for a long while (most shoes last me 3-6 months if I wear them on a daily basis). Asics are pretty good, actually - just not something I commonly wear in the last 6-8 months.

I don't have any favorite brand, I just like High Tops shoes because they're comfy to the point it feels like you're walking barefoot. The ones I currently have are Adidas though.

that's what the other users stated as well.

I thought a shoe with GEL should be more comfortable. The one i use is discontinued now

For when I did cross country, I used primarily Asics.

For cleats (soccer), Adidas is best imo. I had a terrible experience with puma cleats, and so so with Nike cleats.

For casual athletic shoes that may be worn out of context of sporting activities, probably Nike?

Just my opinion/preference based on my experiences.

Don't care, don't have favorite.. all I care about how comforable the shoe wear, and the durability (last) of the shoe.
