I don't usually wear running shoes, but am in light duty hiking shoes nearly every day. I usually wear Merrells, but have recently started looking for an alternative. I used to get at least a year of wear out of Merrells, but my last 3 or 4 pairs start wearing out after 3 months or so. Looking online, I see lots of people saying the same thing, that Merrell has apparently cheaped out on the construction of their shoes. Too bad, they fit me better and are more comfortable than any other shoes I've worn.

Anyone with suggestions for Merrell alternatives, pass them along!

For sneakers I wear Sketchers or Asics. Besides that I have lots of Target shoes (boots, sneakers, flats, etc) and I normally wear my Forever Link combat boots.

i returned the shoes i ordered after finding out it's too narrow for me I found out that it's just because of that specific shoe (due to the design).

I'm looking into Nike Pegasus next ($100 a pair)

btw.. what's the difference between running shoes vs trail running shoes ? more cushion? lightweight?
