Pitch black...in a room the smelt of dry blood and rotten meat... there was some light though ...this wasn't a normal dream it was a semi-lucid dream i knew it was a dream but i had little control over myself.

I met a black figure they reeked of what i imagine death would smell like a mix of rotting meat and blood a putrid irony smell that stung at the nose
I felt myself drawn to this being as i moved to it.

I made out with it and well..the sensation was weird it was like every bad thought i have had ever ran into my mind it was like the thing i was kissing was an amalgamation of my dark side basically my shadow whilst everything felt overwhelming i felt at some strange peace it felt like i was alive but was facing a symbolic being of death i felt close to myself and everything then i woke up.

It was so strange......weirdly enough for three or more minutes after i woke up i could still smell blood and rotten meat

I've had my fair share of weird dreams, but they occur more often when I take deep naps during the day.

About a month ago I kept dreaming I was waking up from my nap, only to find out I was still sleeping. This seemed to happen 10-15 times. Felt like I was going crazy like some groundhog day shit was going on.

Easy. You keep doing the same things in your life over and over like a loop. Your subcon is trying to tell you that you are doing this and need to stop. I.E. wake from the dream/cycle.

Find the pattern in your life and change it. You might already have and not know it.

edit-. The loop might be small and super repetitive, or it might be very huge and span the length of years. Judge based on the length of the repeat of the dream sequence. Kind of hard for some I guess, but basically if each sequence takes what feels like days, you probably repeat your life in the span of weeks. If it feels like weeks, then month. So on and so forth.

Or at least that's how I judge time from my dreams. Seems to correlate well for me.

Your explanation makes a ton of sense, however I don't think it applies to me. I never found my everyday life repetitive, in fact it's one of the things I love most about my job.

My personal take on my dream was I was napping before work. I often have lucid dreams during naps. I knew going into my nap I had to wake up shortly for work. I think that carried over to my dream and after sometime I knew I was dreaming and would wake up again and again. This happened once before while I was staying at my mom's place for a visit.

When I was younger I had the same dream over and over again. Every night for about 3 weeks, then never again.

I was sitting on a blue horse that was swimming through lava and I was catching cartoony looking stars with a hand net.
That was so weird and I really don't know what caused me to dream that

I've also had several dreams where I wasn't human but an actual thing. Those are always so weird...

I've had quite a few odd dreams.

I was having a birthday party and all of a sudden those flesh eating beetles from The Mummy appeared and ate everyone. My sincerest apologies to all my guests, those beetles weren't invited so it was pretty rude and uncalled for. They didn't even get cake before their demise.

Also had a dream where Tom Hiddleston was a prostitute trying to get me to use his...services?? Even offered to dress as Loki. I didn't accept.

I had a dream where I was seeing from the eyes of a guy who was dismembering people.
It was really vivid and felt real, so naturally I woke up crying.

Not so much dreaming but I suffer from sleep paralysis. My body is totally numb and unresponsive while my mind is 'awake', drifting partly between sleep and consciousness; it causes hallucinations.

My most common hallucinations are a man standing beside my bed near my pillows, he has no face and keeps making motions towards my blankets like he's about to take them off, then backs off a few steps, comes forward again and repeats. Either that or it's a body-less head floating in the corner of my room staring unblinking at me. The whole time I lay there unresponsive and panicking, slowly working myself up to a full on panic attack.

I sleep with my bed and back pressed up against the wall facing the door, it's the only way I feel remotely safe.

When I was four years old, I had a dream that I was sitting with the whole family in front of the TV, watching a live transmission of a show where six devils (oily pitch black, horns, hooves, long arrowed tail, faceless) were performing a sync lewd naked dance.

I barely knew what all those details in the dream were at that age, and it scared the shit out of me.

One of the weirdest dreams I had and vividly remember was me being in work on a very silent and dark night and everytime I turn the lights on, they turn off whenever I go back to my table. So I keep turning them on again and again and there is very real feeling of despair to it all. And that's it, no twists or anything. Felt very tired and down when I woke up.
