Saw it last night, I thought it was pretty good. A little predictable, but still enjoyable.

^ Same. Very predictable, but it answered way more questions than Prometheus. The characters still had no common sense and made lots of the same stupid mistakes as they did before.

It was about very pretty cinematography and then like 2 hours of wasted/lost time.

Good stuff - worth a matinee.

Prometheus is a prerequisite.

I enjoyed it. The Backbursters were creepy as hell and we got more into David's headspace than we did in Prometheus, which helps a lot. A Gather there was a whole bunch of David's motivation scenes cut from Prometheus that would have help synch the two films up a bit better.

Plot Twist at the end was obvious but I'm kind of glad they were able to hold out until it was too late for anyone to do anything.

I think the alien thing has been done to death, we don't need a swarm of aliens anymore, we don't need a mega godzilla king alien to top the queen alien, and I am glad that the District 9 director's idea of making a movie in-between Aliens and Ali3n was canned.

I'm grateful Ridley Scott is trying to get away from the alien queen, alien dog, or whatever hybrid concept the next director wants to throw out there. There is more to the alien universe than that, thank goodness.

I enjoyed Alien Covenant, I though theres plenty here I could nicpick but overall I think it was a fantastic addition to the Alien franchise.

Honestly I enjoyed it and hope we'll get another film to wrap up the gap between the prequels and alien. (I think two films would be stretching it out too far & I'd like some answers at the very least that alien and Prometheus raised.)

While a new alien film would have been interesting if it undid alien 3 & 4, i'd much prefer to see the alien franchise wrap up with the prequel films directly coming full circle with alien.

(My money is on the next human crew to find the eggs and engineer ship, trying to stop it from heading to earth with the final version of the alien. They beat david, and plot the ship to LV426, since it would kill most lifeforms with sunrise. Leading directly into the chestburster and freezing the eggs. I'm guessing they are low on ammo/no means to escape, so the remaining crew choose to kill as many as they can or stop them from multiplying.)

(The aliens need a host and food to survive and with no humans left or alternative lifeforms, they'd die out, leaving only the eggs in a frozen stasis that will lead into Alien.)

I was able to buy it with Christmas sales and saw it when it first came out. there's suppose to be another one coming from what I've read, but it does help with the understanding of prequel fun for the alien franchise.

I just watched it this weekend, and though it was good, I guess I was just hoping for more. Hopefully the next film will finally answer some things raised by these last two, and not just be more build up for another and another and another...
