Rumor I just saw is the the Xbox Scorpio will cost $500. That's a huge mistake if it ends up being true, we will find out later.

Given the hardware that they keep saying is under the hood, I can't see it being too much less than that. Should be interesting to see if it's true and what the overall reaction is.

Even generally being a Sony fan that already has a library of PS4 games, I've decided to largely pass on the PS4 Pro because I just can't buy into the "console 2.0" thing unless there is a huge difference between the one I have and the new one, and unless the price is reasonable for the upgrade I'd be getting.

MS will need to make sure the Scorpio actually looks worth the price and needs to make sure it's actually got games out there that people want/need. That's going to be a tough sell given that the current line up already doesn't appeal to a ton of people and also given their strategy of making all upcoming Xbox One titles play on both the One and the PC.

Actually the spec's aren't really that much better than the PS4 Pro. They aren't a huge bump up, a minor upgrade actually. The pro is barely worth the upgrade, but the Scorpio compared to the Xbox One S is actually a huge upgrade, but comparing the PS4 Pro to the Scorpio? Not a huge upgrade, considering specs, but a downgrade considering content of games.

Well, there we go, $500 price tag confirmed for MS Xbox One X (aka the Scorpio)

More comments incoming.

I made notes on pretty much everything. So Here We Go.

Edit:

Forza 7 - It looks like Forza. Nothing really special here. As impressive as the visuals were overall, the grass actually looked pretty terrible. Odd thing to stand out but it stood out to me given how great the rest of it looks.

Metro - Looks great. The previous Metro games are very solid so more Metro is nothing bad.

Assasins Creed - It looks like AC. I mean, other than the expected bump in visuals I don't see anything here that makes me excited about the AC series again. Plus, the main character seems boring as heck. My favourite part of Syndicate was the characters and this felt so empty in comparison.

PUBG - Looks prettier than it seems on PC but I really don't see this working too well on console

Deep Rock - Umm.. I loved the music, complete meh otherwise.

State of Decay - Ugh. Another boring zombie game but this time with super extra jank. Looks pretty terrible.

Darwin Project - The live play by play guy was pointless and annoying. The opening trailer looked decent enough but the gameplay looked so samey and boring.

Minecraft thing - I guess it looked good? I don't care at all for MineCraft. Maybe something for the fans. The cross play aspect is very cool though.

DBZ - As someone who really can't stand DB, this was super meh for me. I love Arc and wish they were doing something I actually wanted. The graphical style is 100% spot on and amazing though.

BDO - Looks great, and I'm already playing it on PC. The gameplay should translate well to console.

Last Night - I want this now. Gorgeous style and setting. I do wonder what the actual gameplay will be though.

Artful Escape - Super cool style and the music is great but I'm just not sure I care to play it

Code Vein - Looking pretty cool but we've seen it before. I would love to get my hands on it

Sea of Thieves - Everyone seems to be super hyped for this but I just don't feel it. Plus it looks pretty janky looking.

Tacoma - Very interested in this given that I loved Gone Home. I'm actually okay they didn't show too much because I don't want to spoil it for myself.

Luckys Tale - 3D platformer that looks exactly like a 3D platformer. Nothing really new or exciting but I suppose we don't get too many of these any more. The character doesn't appeal to me at all. He looks and feels like an also ran from when we used to get a bunch of these in the old days.

Cuphead - Still love the visual style but think the gameplay looks pretty meh

Crackdown - Nice style but it's just not exciting to me *shrug*

Unruly heroes - Saw pretty much nothing but the tiny bit they showed looks sweet

Observer - Cool? Not sure what it is but I liked what I saw

Ashen - Interesting and neat visual style. Feels very Souls which may or may not be a good thing.

Life Is Strange - Loved the first game and I love the trailer song, Super interested and can't wait to see where it goes after the first one. Or before the first one, I guess, since it's a prequel.

Shadow of War - Looks pretty much as expected. Way too goofy for my tastes given the subject matter.

Ori 2 - Stunning visuals and beautiful music. The first one is pretty much a modern classic so this should be really good.

Backward compatibility - Doesn't do much for me personally but there's no question that it should be there. A pretty solid shot at Sony and their listlessness on the subject.

Anthem - Well, it's beautiful but I'm not sure I care. It's an open world, multiplayer game that feels sort of like Destiny mixed with the combat and UI from the Mass Effect games. My biggest issue is that, as something that sounds a lot like an MMO, will there be any point in playing it solo, which is how I often play. Will I be missing out on all of the cool stuff like I did in Destiny (and many other MMOs) because I'm not into the forced grouping thing. The gameplay looks good but I'm just not excited about it given the questions I have.

Xbox One X - Confirmed $500 price point which may be too much for many. I can't see myself buying one given that I'll be able to play the stuff they showed that does excite me elsewhere anyway. Interested in seeing what others have to say about this.

Edit 2:
Overall Opinion on the presentation:
I'm a little mixed here because they didn't really sell me on anything. There was cool looking stuff to be sure and I LOVED that they largely showed the games and didn't waste much time with non-game stuff. To me, that's what an E3 conference should be about. Other conferences may hit me personally and more directly but it's honestly going to be tough for anyone else to top this based purely on the amount of and diversity of shown content.

I watched a majority of the Xbox conference, overall I thought it was a fine showing, I'm glad it was mostly showing the games and new hardware.

The main issue I have is that a majority of titles shown aren't really "exclusives" so it's really hard for me (and I believe for many others) to actually want to buy a Xbox One. I'd upgrade to Windows 10 before I would buy a Xbox One. Plus the name for the new more powerful Xbox, the "Xbox One X" is terrible. Especially when there is another console that is half the price and is called "Xbox One S". Just knowing how oblivious an average consumer is I wouldn't be surprised if the Xbox One X under preforms in sales expectations.

Well, Bethesda's conference was barely worth mentioning for me. Woflenstein 2 looked interesting but I doubt the FPS genre will be the best way to tell what seems like an intriguing story. Evil Within 2 looks decent enough though I wasn't a huge fan of the first. And that's really about it.

Their conferences always feel like that to me though. Either they hit with something huge like a new Elder Scrolls or Fallout or they land with a wet thud and I wonder why they even bother having a conference at all.

Apple pulled the the same line out their but for this year's WWDC. Fucking lies.

Unimpressed with the announcements other than Minecraft cross play with Switch/Mobile. I'm a Forza fan and well... didn't see anything worth getting hype for.

DBZ is cool. I'll check it out.

So far Anthem seems interesting. Of course I'll be getting Forza 7, because I'm a big racing fan. I'll probably be getting the X at some point. It comes out 8 days before my birthday, so I probably end up getting it my self as my birthday present.
