Thats only for the US. The rest of the world is getting it on Netflix. As is every American that can use a proxy.

Wait, we can get this on Netflix? Is that like as it comes out or do we have to wait until the season ends?

If Star Trek's diversity is so damned legendary, why have there never been any Muslim crew members? Or even Muslim citizens? What happened to all the Muslims in Star Trek world?

The federation is big government on a galactic scale...

Yeah, I remember all those episodes where the Southern Baptist Doctor McCoy tried to convert the Russian Orthodox Helmsman Chekov...besides that one "Roman" episode in TOS, the "religious" races in the ST universe, the Bajorans and the Jem'Hadarwere shown to be "worshiping" advanced alien races.

It'll be simulcast like they're doing with iZombie at the moment. So we'll get each ep within 24 hours of it airing on CBS.

Now admittedly I have never really liked star trek as such only seen a few episodes and parts of them and films just something about it I couldn't say exactly what it's not I dislike it just probably because it was underwhelming as it was made out to be one of the best things ever to me and was disappointing but my opinion aside I saw tons of different people and aliens and concepts maybe that's just what I saw and heard but I somehow doubt it.

That's fantastic. Here I was thinking I would have to wait for dvds but with this we can bypass that cbs service nobody wants. Im getting more psyched for this show by the day.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. I had given up on watching it as well.

Add that to Netflix's new Castlevania series and <3

They obviously missed,

Star Trek: The Original Series
Let That Be Your Last Battlefield
Season: 3 Ep. 15 Air Date: 01/10/1969
Stardate: 5730.2

Chekov: There was persecution on Earth once. I remember reading about it in my history class.
Sulu: Yes, but it happened way back in the twentieth century. There's no such primitive thinking today.
--and later--
Bele: It is obvious to the most simpleminded that Lokai is of an inferior breed.
Mr. Spock: The obvious visual evidence, Commissioner, is that he is of the same breed as yourself.
Bele: Are you blind, Commander Spock? Well, look at me. Look at me!
Captain James T. Kirk: You are black on one side and white on the other.
Bele: I am black on the right side!
Captain James T. Kirk: I fail to see the significant difference.
Bele: Lokai is white on the right side. All of his people are white on the right side

I just want to point out that according to current population statistics, over half of the people currently living on Earth are ethnic Asians.

Isn't proclaiming racial diversity excludes white people in this scenario tantamount to admitting that white people are the overwhelmingly norm and status quo?

In any case, do Twitter hashtags matter? I would appreciate it as a part of a larger study on culture, but I think a mere sampling is unconvincing that this will take off. Asshats are everywhere, and social media makes it easier to find them.

That being said, I was upset over George Takei's character of Hikaru Sulu being retconned into gay, as of the many changes that bastardized the original Star Trek, but this is a new series, and I do not care. There is nothing to adapt at this point.

Were a .minority and yet were also the norm. I'm OK with this.

It is all demographics and how they are spread out or condensed. The main difference is that while the Japanese put Japanese in roles that conflict with the actual race (Attack on Titan), it is acceptable as Japan is overwhelmingly Japanese, whereas the USA is 60% white, as well as having Japanese actors speak lines for a primarily Japanese audience, versus searching for adequate actors who qualify. The USA is far more diverse, and depending on the situation, it would be nice for it to reflect demographics as well as put more thought into racial context as well.

I softened my heart after Matt Damon's The Great Wall rant I posted earlier, mainly because China also heavily affected many films with their large market but stringent guidelines, but that being said...

Whites are the majority in population for the United States it appears, but a great deal of stars appear to be overwhelmingly white as well. Of course, it is hard to enforce racial diversity as a legal requirement. Movies are works of art while simultaneously being a product. While I think it would be nice to feature minority actors when appropriate, the director should be given full freedom, but criticism can be levied fairly, such as Shymalayan's The Last Airbender.

That being said, East Asians do appear to be the majority of the world's human population, but how many have ew ran into across the street in the US? It differs in some areas, but overall, the population is around 5% or under, so by the US standards, they are minorities, as whites are in China or Japan, presumably. Of course, ethnic neighborhoods exist to account for.

An average does not indicate a common percentage per area.

In essence, it is something to "wish for", but perhaps my own racial biases are in effect. I don't think untalented people should be given the spotlight, but looks may matter in the context of certain films.

10-1 this is another stupid attempt by 4chan at trolling the alt-right and SJWs but like always the media is either too incompetent or too lazy to find out or they don't care as long as it drums up page hits.

Wut. How do you come to those conclusions unless you're actively looking around trying to find things you can claim are gay/feminist? >.>

Hmm lets see, men having weird posture, weird body langauge, being flirty towards you as a male character. Females, not a single girl has long staraight hair, lots of short hair and coloured hair and lots of tough strong bad ass manly sort of femal characters.
There seriosuoly is not one girly girl in the game. Like no really pretty or cute femine sort of girls in the entire game.
I know not all girls like that are feminists or gay and it can be a stero type but that's how it is in the game.
