Well IMO it is a kind of shitty thing to do. You don't see them do this with mad Max fury road do you?

I mean it's not such a big deal that people need to be in a complete uproar about it but it's still a shitty thing to do.

I dunno, its one day, in one location

the guys can pick the day after?or before? or any day for the next few months?
edit: you KNOW im not usually the one to spout feminstic equality crap but in this case, it IS one day, and unlike all the other super hero movies, DC wise, wonder woman has yet to have a film, until now
and all these years, over 70 years she has been a icon for womens rights, equality, power and stuff

The problem is that its just stupid in general. But yeah, I dont see it having a big effect. Its just annoying to see exclusion popularized as a good thing.

Because people don't like being discriminated against based on their gender?

Meh.

It's stupid but if bars and clubs can have ladies' nights then a theater should be able to do the same for one showing.

As much as I'd like for that to be true, it isn't

Edit: actually nevermind, I apparently forgot about the animated movie. That one definitely deserves to be remembered.

Good! Now they're all talking about the movie and people will remember to go see it!

Except... a stunt like this probably doesn't bode well for the quality of the movie.

Mad Max: Fury Road didn't need this kind of shit because it was a fucking awesome movie.

So when you start pulling this type of thing, I just heave a mighty sigh and say "that movie must suuuuuuuuuck"

Seriously, you want a good Wonder Woman movie? Just give Joss Whedon a blank cheque and a release date, then leave him the fuck alone. Done. #1 at the box office, guaranteed. Too bad Wonder Woman is from DC and not Marvel...

It is blatant discrimination based solely on gender and not to mention it is at a public venue. That and it may not even be legal to do something like this in the first place. It is a very slippery slope when you decide to start to turn a blind eye to blatant discrimination because it seems harmless at the moment. Sure it may very well be today but if you start allow things to happen unabated and setting precedents then it will only escalate further in the future and then it won't be so harmless. Then it is too late to do much about it though.

Not angry just point out the facts as to why people are pissed as per the OP. Too much effort to get rant raving pissed over a movie that will most likely suck.

Lol just imagine if the same thing happened in reverse for Superman films.

It's free publicity and it has done it's job by getting everyone talking. It's smart marketing. I'm sure the movie will be ass though.

I *want* it to be a good movie because there really needs to be a good female superhero movie. But on the other hand, it's DC and DC sucks at this. Going by the trailers, I have a feeling this might lean too much on Chris Pine rather than Wonder Woman and we'll have to wait for Captain Marvel.

Whedon has been brought in to finish Justice League. Unfortunately, the circumstances that led to that are rather tragic. Snyder has stepped away from all of his movie work in the wake of his daughter committing suicide.

I mean, it's not a big deal, but when you look at the principle of the idea... Just exchange the "men" for any other demographic. I'm pretty sure there would be a -lot- of screaming if it would be "No women allowed" or better yet, "No blacks allowed". *sigh*
I just don't like the idea certain, fairly large group of people who should not be named keep pushing, that being men and white people (or, *gasp* the worst, white males) are dirt, cannot be discriminated against, and well, let's cut to the chase, should have their human rights revoked. And don't jump the gun, not being allowed to see one movie at one place is not exactly hardcore, but then again...
