Well, we seem hell bent on taking their birth control and limiting reproductive rights, so the least my fellow menfolk can do is give the ladies one night with the first big screen, live-action Wonder Woman adaption. Which, I've heard so far, is actually pretty good, and not just "better than the rest of DC's bullshit" good. Kind of a weird baby of Captain America 1 and Thor.

In summary: it's fine.

This always happens with cinemas though but they don't ever do a males night thats the problem sure its fine but if they don't also do male nightsl ike no other place does it's really unfair.

Also we don't seem bent on taking their birth control and rights that's what idiots are bent on

It is just a matter of principle as I see it, perhaps a minor incident, but one overall. After all, does she not favor diplomacy? What is more diplomatic than an actually good DC superhero movie in the current lineup being enjoyed by both males and females?

Said guys and gals can just go to one of the other 31 screenings of the film at the same theatre on the same day. Only 2 of the 33 screenings being held are for women only. Its not like said whiny men can't see the film too.

It's still gonna be enjoyed by both men and women, there's just going to be this one specific showing at this one specific place that's going to be women only. Again, I think its dumb but other establishments are allowed to do this kind of thing so I don't see any more reason to care when it's a movie theater doing it.

Only if it's women only ....i have never seen an establishment do a man only thing because people would complain if they did.

That's entirely true. Again, not saying its a good thing, just saying I don't see any reason to be upset by this and not all the other things.

Hmm, that does seem valid enough. Perhaps they are trying to appeal to the notion that Wonder Woman is a feminist icon since her forced departure as something something symbol from the UN for allegedly being sexist?

(Yet Tinkerbell is still there, despite canonically being an asshole.)

This seems like an insult to Wonder Woman and what she stands for if you ask me.

Wonder Woman lived on an isolated hidden island that only had women on it and she never cared to change that. Granted, there were pretty good reasons not to, including Godly decree, but I still don't think she'd lose any sleep over this.

I am not arguing against the legal nature of it, but rather the morality of it. Runec then alerted me to the nature of the other screenings on the exact day.

I think we both agree this is stupid, but I have more thinking to do.

I guess they could set up a men only screening

My question is. Who the heck would want to go to that sausage party?

This is much to do about nothing

What about trans women? What about men with gender disphoria? What about those who don't identify with one of the two genders? Is the theater prepared to check?

I don't think it will be a flop. It'll make #1 in the box office for the first 2 weeks at least.

How is the word "fuck" used in this sentence? Is it a verb or adjective?

Thing is, if there was a men's only movie showing for 1 day in 1 location, shit would be in a fucking uproar.
patriarchy, misogyny, Trans-phobic, blah blah, the same excuses the scum of the earth always say.
If they didn't pull this kind of shit, I would not care. However, since there is no way men can have a 'gentlemen's day' at a movie theater, it's kinda insulting.

Like a slap to your face while holding something slightly out of your reach to taunt you.

So, anyone want to set up a gentleman's day at a movie theater somewhere? I'll gladly join along if it's close enough.

I don't care. I'm not interested in the movie. I had a laugh when I first looked up Wonder woman's origins. Apparently she was supposed to be designed to appeal to feminists ideals. With a suit best for beach wear, high heels and bullet proof bracelets. Now ignoring fan service, what good is bullet proof bracelets when it covers the smallest surface area of a person? Is her bullet evasion dance that appealing? Now if they had magical bracelets that activated an invisible body bullet proof shield that would sound sensible.
