I honestly haven't been to a movie theater in over 20 years. I mean who goes to those rip off places anymore? I rather wait a few months and stream it for much cheaper in the comfort of my own home

True enough. Especially movie premieres. Wait a week and see if it sucks first. Especially if it's a DC movie. >.>

DC has been surprisingly consistent with their movies sucking after the Dark Knight trilogy concluded. Like a jelly doughnut with no filling...looks good until you take a bite of it.

Indeed. They seem to think that every movie needs to be exactly like the Dark Knight trilogy. Miserable, depressing, grim dark and an hour too long. Plus they are forever rushing to "Catch up" to Marvel. They want to jump ahead to doing ensemble movies like Justice League without doing all the leg work and character building Marvel did with individual movies first. So they're cramming as many characters as they can into their movies.

I don't care. I'm not interested in the movie. I had a laugh when I first looked up Wonder woman's origins. Apparently she was supposed to be designed to appeal to feminists ideals. With a suit best for beach wear, high heels and bullet proof bracelets. Now ignoring fan service, what good is bullet proof bracelets when it covers the smallest surface area of a person? Is her bullet evasion dance that appealing? Now if they had magical bracelets that activated an invisible body bullet proof shield that would sound sensible.

I am not sure if they are going with this in the movie, but in the comics:

That gave me a laugh

I would say that is indicative of the movie industry as a whole these days. Instead of coming up with new and creative ideas and ways to present them they just try to rehash older material and styles that have worked in the past. That is how we get a rehash of a remake from that re-imagining of that spin off from 20 years ago that was somewhat popular back in the day. The Dark Knight trilogy was fantastic but that was that and this is this. DC is quickly turning into a one trick pony. Marvel has been working on their extended universe for years and DC isn't going to catch up by continually shooting themselves in the foot rushing to keep pace. If anything they will kill the entire demand for superhero movies by poisoning the well. Sure they can't necessarily take it easy and emulate Marvel either as then they would always be in the shadow of Marvel. So instead why don't they take a new approach and start trail blazing? Either way what they are currently doing isn't working so if they intend to continue somethings gotta give.

Well, the problem is it works for the most part. Critical reviews aside it makes money hand over fist unless the movie is absolute trash. Even then, long as it has enough explosions and boobs it'll still make back its budget twice over. The Transformers movies are absolutely god awful cinematic garbage but they make disgusting amounts of money.

But, critically, that's because a garbage movie is still fun for some people. Which is the key thing that DC continues to miss. Most people aren't going to a superhero movie to be depressed. They want to have fun. Marvel gets that. Marvel also gets pacing and that you can't just lay on drama without coming up for air once and a while. Furthermore, Marvel tends to approach its individual movies as different genres with different tones.

I mean, Captain America was almost a period war drama and Winter Soldier was near a cold war thriller. Contrast that to Guardians of the Galaxy which is full on swashbuckling adventure. They have different flavours for different movies and characters. Whereas DC hit one flavour that worked once and now tries to use it for literally every movie.

It sounds like they finally changed that in WW. Whether or not they learn or they make every movie like WW from here on out instead s another matter. >.>

I wouldn't care about this if having a male only showing wouldn't cause such an out roar. However since having male only anything causes sexism to be thrown out in the name of equality this must also be claimed to be a sexist event full of Misandry!

Very true and we will see if DC finally learned their lesson or not.

We can hope but given DC's track record of late it doesn't bode well.

Yeah, there been alot of troubling knowledge from the set that doesn't make me hopeful you know that and every movie starting with Dark Knight rises has sucked.

That is becoming par for the course these days with DC.
