Anyone play the ARMS Global Test Punch? There's a schedule here, http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/05/guide_what_time_is_the_arms_global_testpunch_demo

I played for about 45 minutes. It was pretty fun. The controls will take some getting used to. I tried both the Joy-Cons and Pro Controller, and as much as I prefer the Pro Controller, I think the Joy-Cons will be the preferred controllers for this game.

There seems to be different match types. I didn't really like the lobby or queuing system but I hope that's just because it's an early preview, and hopefully the release will allow you to choose which type of matches you want to play. A few times I was thrown into a 1:1 volleyball match, and I just don't think I like that. 2 on 2 was fun, and since the test had a player option, I figure that'll be best for you and a friend to play together, so you can try to coordinate. Free-for-all 4 player matches were just insane.

Seems to be some kind of in-game currency, as I got coins at the end of each match, but no way to spend them.

I already have the game on pre-order.

I actually quite like the lobbying system. At least when compared to other fighting games and their lobbies, I feel that ARMS makes it a point to show what "you're" doing (like jumping from bubble to bubble to fight/play with or against people).

I haven't tried to play using the Pro Controller as I felt that the game was overall designed to be played with the JoyCons in the "thumbs-up" position. Between your own comments and a few of my friends who has played with the Pro Controller, I feel I made the right "choice" in sticking with the JoyCons. It's fun, silly and kind of addictive (I ended up with 479 coins after last night's testpunch). I might play some more just to seal in the idea of a pre-order somewhere. Or .. might just download it locally (seeing as that's kind of my new thing to do with everything Switch related).

Wow, I almost completely forgot this releases NEXT Friday (16th). I totally forgot to play the testing sessions, and as such, I'm still iffy on picking this up. At this rate, I may hold off and wait for a sale.

I will say that it's a bit of a "niche" kind of game. While I have to say that I enjoyed the test sessions, I'm not under any illusion that I'll put in more than 40-50 hours into this game. It'll be one of the games that I pull out while the Switch is with me out and about, most likely. it's one of those fun games where you can easily just break it out in a hotel room or at a friend's place (like Bomberman or Mario Kart 8 DX). I'm keeping my pre-order and since I'm getting it through Amazon (Prime), it's a little cheaper than retail.

Yeah, that sounds about right. My only reason to expedite a purchase is if I plan on taking my Switch over to a friend's place for some multiplayer fun and that will happen only if my real life friends pick up the game themselves. This doesn't seem like a game that I can sink a lot of time into when I'm just sitting around at home looking for something to play.

Oh, cool! I like the game a lot too. I'm curious though as Mechanica main, how do you deal with the shock arms people use?
I'm a Minmin main through and through.
