I want to know what would stop you from finishing an anime. ASSUMING THAT THE STORY/PLOT IS ONE THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AND WOULD NORMALLY LIKE.

Voice Acting cause' I already hate Dub and when the Japanese voice isn't nice either just annoys me too much.

Terrible visuals is possible (not necessarily in terms of animation, I'm not a stickler for animation actually), terrible character tropes is possible as well. I find voice acting and music to be important, but I won't completely shut off a series if I don't care for the way they're done.

Things that are likely to make me drop an anime: Excessive violence, panty/boob shots. A series has to really draw me in for some other reason to keep me watching with these... Like JJBA. I hate the violence towards dogs, but I like the series so much aside from that. I wish the author would stop with the dog violence!

Weak characters. Poor visuals, bad voice acting, lousy music and comic relief can all still deliver a great story/plot. If the characters are weak, there is no conveyance of that great story. If the characters are awesome, even with a terrible plot I'll likely still watch. That's how important character development is.

I chose terrible character tropes. Specifically the trope where the main character is some useless loser who somehow attracts every female within a ten mile radius. I swear that describes more than half the anime that's released now a days, but I just can't stand it anymore. I get it's sort of a fantasy/wish fulfillment kind of a deal, but I just don't find those types of wide spread romances appealing.

Ugh, I couldn't make it past that first episode where Dio smacks JoJo's dog and then JoJo's father is just like "eh whatever." I'm like really? Some dude you never met is going to come into your house and beat your dog and you're totally fine with it. WTF? Seriously, fuck JoJo's dad. That shit nearly gave me a stroke.

Bad plot twists and lots of fake drama. I gave up Aldnoah Zero in season two because I couldn't take anything in it seriously, get excited, get sad, anything anymore.

I forgot, generally episodic anime don't interest me and I lose interest in them quickly. They have to be legitimately entertaining for me to want to keep watching. The 70s and 80s Lupin series are probably the exception to this rule. That's like the only series I enjoy in the episodic format and actually don't even care to see an overarching story.

Quasi-episodic series are actually the worst to me. They spend episodes on end doing nothing but repeating the same formula and then all of the sudden they decide to go into a story. Sailor Moon is the worst offender of this. I enjoy when it goes into a story arc, but by the end of the arc what happened is pretty much sidelined and it's back to the same old episodic stories that always end exactly the same way with Usagi being scared by the monster of the episode and Tuxedo Mask shows up to save the day. I just couldn't continue watching the endless amount of filler episodes. I want to see story progression!

The dog abuse gets much worse than that, too. D:
