➡ Stereotypical high-pitched female with large tits.
➡ Stereotypical douchebag male who feels the need to fight EVERYTHING.
➡ Fighting in general at the moment, give me some wholesome content.
➡ Fanservice, I'm just so fucking bored of it.
➡ Lack of characters that aren't *pretty looking boy* *pretty looking, small girl* *dickhead friends*

Honestly I'd be satisfied with an anime about something completely domestic, I think I'm just getting old.
I just want something I can come home to after work and enjoy without too much effort.

You know, and actually be fucking good.

Going over dramatic with a simple illness like a cold for a plot device. No one should be loosing consciousness for a cold. Then not seeing a doctor whilst shoving in the pills to get better.

Too many non existent parents/guardians

Too many school based settings. It is possible to have a teen protagonist outside of a school setting without the anime being sci-fi/fantasy.

Too much fan service especially when it gets excessive.

Panty shots even when the skirts/dresses aren't minis or very short.

The apparent belief that 90 per cent of characters need to be sexy teenage girls...

It seems like every other show has a male hero, a male villain, and then like a dozen hot girls that fit every fetish and category. This is true even outside of harems (where it makes perfect sense to have a diverse group of cute girls). Like, an action anime where all the best warriors in the world (except for the OP MC) also happen to be porn stars and lolis.

As a big JoJo's fan, I know an anime can be really popular and entertaining without boobs and butts and pantsu poking out around every corner, but it seems like creators have this idea that every show, regardless of genre, needs to have the cast of an 18+ Visual Novel. It's just getting so dull. Instead of interesting diverse characters -- male or female -- we get the same boring, recycled, unoriginal archetypes over and over for the sake of sex appeal and cuteness.

That annoying little gasp that all anime characters make but no-one in real life does.

Dude, YES. I hate this so much, but no one ever talks about it. Also when they just say a character's name out of nowhere when he/she does or says something surprising or emotional. They're just like "Yukine..." (I just noticed that in Noragami that's why I used that name). Like, no one does that.

  • The cookie cutter intro song. First screech the opening line, then assault our ears with a guitar solo riff, then an upbeat 1-2 cymbal/bass combo for the first half of the verse, then rejoin with the instruments for the last half... Does everything have to sound like Tsubasa?!?
  • Horny dude who freaks out on nudity/seduction. Are you really looking for that kind of action or not?
  • Contrived accidents resulting in wardrobe malfunction/kissing/groping. Sorry, but if she lands on you mouth to mouth after falling from a tree, there's going to be bloody lips and broken teeth.
  • Love interests who go full Rambo even when it's not his fault. Character picks up the dude by the back of his collar and hurls him into a girl "as a test", and the other two competitors who SAW THE WHOLE THING still beat the snot out of the dude.
  • LGBTs portrayed as rapey and incorrigible harassers, typically to their own demise, for cheap humor. Trying to show your tolerance and understanding? This ain't how.
  • The evil cackle. Seriously?
  • Yelling the name of another character who may have taken damage.
  • Plans that rely on knowing exactly where, how fast, when, how far, etc. everybody will move in response to your actions so that you can spring your trap and take them all down at once
  • Teens in adult roles. Yeah, I get that teens are capable of far more than they are usually allowed for their age, but you still don't hand them the nuclear launch codes when people of far more restraint and maturity are supposed to be in control of them, or defer to their awesome feelings. I'm looking at you, Eldlive.
  • On-the-job training. Oh, you've awakened a power! Let's put you straight into action! Oh wait, you committed some taboo whose punishment is death. Too bad nobody even showed you the rule book, let alone required you to pass any training courses. Oh well, we'll let you redeem yourself anyway since you're such an awesome person.
  • Arcs beginning with heroes completely pwned by the new threat, followed by a bunch of chasing their tails and still getting pwned, and finally the last battle where every good guy suddenly kicks ass. Thinking of Bleach there.
  • Series that begin as lighthearted action shows but descend into total boring action straight from the same playbook as any other anime. i.e. Reborn.

Repetitive flashbacks. I mean, I can understand why the same flashback might be used more than once, but when we have to see it every single episode (or more, in some cases), it does get a little grating. I would also like to say the overuse of flashbacks, but I feel like that's a little more situational.

This reminds me of Bungou Stray Dogs and their annoying attempt to make the audience feel bad for Atsushi the whole series. I was so annoyed I skip thew flashbacks.

Flashbacks are fine but overuse of the same one is bad especially when there's no explanation at all. I mean why show that to us when you're not gonna explain? (I'm looking at Absolute Duo).

Some are "bored" category, while others were there then continued being around and now become "hated":

- Female characters being pulled down (intellegence, skill, or physical strength) so that they don't overshadow the male MC.
- Focus with female characters being on their T&A
- Over-the-top fanservice that begs the question on where the line between regular anime and hentai is exactly.
- Same-sex pairings being teased without ever actually being explored or even having any real intention of going with them (even though some are better than the hetero)

^These. Like I said in another thread, I don't mind fanservice so long as they're not going over the top and the fanservice isn't the only thing the show can offer (like, you promised us a story. Where is it? All I see are semi-naked girls).

And the 'queer-baiting' as they call it. A bit of teasing is fine but if the whole series makes them look like a couple but then suddenly making one of them end up with someone else in a hetero pairing is a terrible move. Especially if the gay pairing makes more sense.

Anime that starts out as adventure/comedy/whatever and turns into romance out of nowhere. I have nothing against romance anime but when I'm promised something else it almost feels like bait and switch. Even worse if it's super cheesy or a harem.
Most of the other stuff I can just avoid and ignore, it's when they sneak it in there that I really feel cheated

My problem with harem. Not all harem are bad but most of them are since they don't bother with the story and just shove harem cliches in the audiences' faces.

The first one. I know plot armor exist for Main Characters but there's only so much I can take when no one important dies, It takes the excitement and interest away when you know they';re all gonna be okay anyways (Fairy Tail and Bungou Star Dpgs come to mind).

If the damsel in question is plot relevant and actually helps in another way, it's fine but if she does nothing of importance and just stands there looking pretty and being the MC's love interest then yeah, that one I hate, too. (Kyouko from KHR. Dear god...)

Almost everything else written on your actively annoying list are from harems and yes, I'm annoyed with those, too. And the girl molesting another girl is annoying for another reason for me: if the girls do that then the audience accepts it as normal but if two guys do it, everyone would blow up at how it's 'yaoi' and 'gross'. Double Standard, much? Also, if guys could get two girls groping each other fanservice then what's wrong with us girls getting fanservice with two guys?

I prefer a girl who can fight, too.

Any anime or manga whose description starts with "Loser-kun was just an everyday average boy".

Garbage fire fodder like that with self insert MC's that target the average loser (yet is inexplicably loved by everyone) are the worst unless its a story about how they better themselves.

Also Harem anime that doesn't have have the guts to pick someone at the end. Who cares if idiots with baseless ships get mad.

Sad or shock fests that are only shocking and tragic for the sake of shaking up the audience.

I'm looking at you, Tokyo Ghoul. I watched a whole season of this, and at the end, I wondered what the point was.

School theme and settings, i near automatically drop an anime if it has a school-setting shoved in it. I old and tired of seeing such a thing. I can't stand it anymore.

Harems, harems, harems.

Also unbelievably wimpy MCs who stay wimpy throughout the entire series or unbelievably OP MCs who are effectively gods in human form or stupendously dense MCs who make black holes seem as light as air they're so dense.(male or female).

Fights that come down to who is the most powerful. It's so boring, and it leads series down the path of "heroes get wrecked by more powerful enemy, heroes power up, heroes destroy that enemy, and even more powerful enemy wrecks them, they power up, ad naseum." It's way more interesting when the hero has to win fights by outsmarting their enemy. You can do way more cool and varied fights that way, but of course it's much harder to write.
