I just saw the controversy over Kathy Griffin's photo shoot. I just have one question why?

https://twitter.com/search?q=kathy+griffin&ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Esearch

Was it art? Was it inciting violence? Was it a threat against the president? Should she be punished?

One of the gauges I use to tell if something is right or wrong is if my daughter did this photoshoot against a fellow student at her school would that be OK? Could she claim art and be off the hook? Another is could I show this to my children (although it is posted everywhere now). I couldn't even imagine this being seen by my children when I was deployed....

Not sure maybe my moral character is off base but I'm thinking this was not right?

Comments?

I'm pretty sure it would be some form of hate crime if she was holding Obama's head and it was 2009, but it's a pretty mainstream thing to hate Trump so I'm sure she'll get away with it since you can claim free speech or something.

Personally I wish people would try not to do stuff like hold the beheaded effigy of a president as to avoid freaking out the secret service and keep criticisms of the president civil, but in the current time I'm not surprised such a thing would be allowed.

Well I just saw it early today and my first thought was well this will be a shit storm against her.

People have done this when bush was around and Obama just not as visual. There was a movie showing Bush being shot. Right or wrong?
Well due to their 11 yr old kid seeing it definetly wrong but not wrong. I mean free spech and everything overall it's just kind of tasteless more than anything.

I don't think she have issued a apology for it but she did and she did so for her career obviously Come on Kathy your D-List stick by your guns what fame do you have to worry about?

People have less and less reservations these days as the internet, the place they used to feel completely free from consequences for their behavior, has bled into the real world and vice versa to the point where neither is distinguishable from each other, and we get a mix of outrageous behavior without understanding that it now carries weight and consequences.

The world itself seems more and more like a piece of absurdist art.

the tolerance people is really showing their peaceful/kind side by holding a decapitated head for all to see

this is something out of ISIS' book or feudal Japan war era..

this! from a news anchor ?

put this woman on the ISIS/ domestic terrorists watch list.

Stare at the uncensored image for 2-3 minutes and tell me what you think about this individual ? would you work/live with this woman ? even if you are on her side having the same view as her ?

there are quite a few women like this

CNN are hypocrites.
This bimbo's routine is just a logical outgrowth of their endless attacks on Trump.

So we get mad at SJW's for speaking out against things they find offensive (Especially in comedy and protest), but if it's Kathy Griffin doing something offensive you disagree with it's 'too far'.

Seems like the SJW category isn't exactly implicit to the left me thinks.

When your enemy hands you a stick to beat them with, you use it.

Especially if it has the word 'Hypocrisy' carved in it.

There's no hypocrisy in holding your enemy up to the standards they claim to live by.
