I was under the impression they had found viking settlements in canada. they also found a rune stone dated 1050 in minnesota and i think a coin in maine. at the very least, i think there is quite a bit to back up they landed in canada.

ok... aside from pilots.
edit:: Even if pilots do use it, they should put the course on people who want to become pilots.

This one was really interesting but pretty much useless, had to look it up again.

Hiroo Onoda
World War II ended way back in 1945. Someone forgot to tell Hiroo Onoda and his men, however. They kept fighting and fighting and fighting. And when that wasn't enough, they kept on fighting some more. Thirty years later, their war was still going on. It obviously ended, or you wouldn't be able to read this great story of survival.

thanks to those who stayed on topic to specific others, u may need to get a new hobby other than lurking and annoying people on forums.

another example a comma must come before "and" when making a list of things in a sentence, when it really doesn't matter. Also that u must put 2 spaces between sentences when again it doesn't matter. Journalism started breaking the rules so now everyone does it...

i would say the things i learned in school that were useless or not even true probably came from the subject history, and my english teacher from 6th grade. she didn't even know how to speak good grammar english, i always laughed while she was teaching

I learned there was a tenth planet found in the solar system which was slightly larger than Pluto, but I guess if Pluto isn't considered a planet then it's not either
