You just went to a shit school.

I learned a lot at my school, and my teachers were great. The only thing I found useless was Geography because we learned about the weather, earthquakes and volcano. I had to gain my own Geographical knowledge through reading.

Glad to see you didn't pay attention in English class or you would have been able to formulate that sentence better, but then you couldn't have claimed that everything all your teachers ever taught you weren't true or useful.

OH I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE. You crafty crafty junior in high school you.

For me I was studying calculus and trig for a computer science degree and then I decided I didn't want to study that and went into Political Science and History, so technically all that other stuff is now useless to me, unless I am helping one of my friends with math problems.

I guess I can't honestly say that I have ever learned something that wasn't true(at the time, poor Pluto) or useful to me at some point in time, but then again I have a slightly optimistic view to my education so I try and not look at it as I'm wasting my time learning useless things.

Yeah. That's true haha. I guess they have taught me something in life, eh!
Wow, bro. You're a really smart person. To study all that stuff.

I would say that nothing I learned in school was useless. Really, everything I've learned has had some use to me. To tell me what I like and don't like, to show me my interests, to help me think critically, to help me build upon prior knowledge, and to correct and fix inaccuracies and inconsistencies in knowledge/information.

Usless- 75% of what you learn in algebra II and Geometry.
False- Evolution(just stating a fact that it is still on theory status and not proven, no flaming please) The South never lost the Civil War, Pluto was a planet, and that they speak Spanish in Haiti.

Evolution isn't false, it is - as you said, a theory. But it is a scientific theory, not an "I've got a theory about why my parents are assholes" theory (aka an opinion or guess). Scientific theories are vigorously tested and reviewed and have a great deal of evidence backing them. Gravity is a theory. There's also the cell theory and the germ theory. Plate tectonics is a theory. That doesn't make any of these false.

I would agree to both statements, except I'll add that my current geography class has involved excellent discussions, readings, research, and critical thinking and is of a quality much higher than any social science class I took before college. The professor does a good job of making Geography interesting and relevant.

Everything have been of use. Actually, in the contrary, I've learned a lot of Geography considering the small amount of lessons we have per week; thanks to it at least I know which countries' capitals such as Paramaribo or Boznia-Herzegovina are from.

Let me see...learning about transcendentalism. What the heck? Am I ever going to become a transcendentalist? I think not; definitely not my thing. And Henry Thoreau, thanks to you, I had to write a paper on transcendentalism and I actually had to be one for a day. I failed at being one! O.o

I learnt more from documentaries I watched and articles I read spent in my leisure time than I did from school. Of course apart from all the maths.

Honestly I think school made me dumber.

For instance I learned that Chris Columbus discovered America, when it truth it was Amerigo Vespuchi or something like that. Columbus got as far as the carribbean/west indies,....don't quote me on that last part my memory fails me in old age

amerigo vespuchi did not discover america. columbus actually went to south america along with the carribean. i think Pizzaro and maybe even Cortez himself set foot on america long before vespuchi. america is named america because a german mapmaker named the new world after amerigo.

i thought it was leif erikson and the vikings who first set foot on america

uhhhh yea like i said don't quote me but I think we can affirmatively say that it wasn't Columbus...first

lol Columbus was pretty late if you think about it. The vikings found America before (the first viking to is unsure) but the 'Indians' (Named due to Columbus's stupidity) were here from pretty much the beginning. Saying he discovered America is like if i went Europe but didn't know it was there and saying i discovered it.

In all technicalities, pluto is a planet. But then again the moon is also. "A large celestial body," is a planet. Just depends what you are comparing it to.

When my history teacher told us that Afghanistan's ceptic tank is full of stones and refuse to use toilet paper.
I admit I bursted out laughing and I still find it very funny.
