I think the market will decide. People love more fuel efficient cars and if solar takes off and makes free energy even more viable, sure gas companies will fight it but fuck them.

I love my Prius. I love its gas mileage. I also agree that we need to spend more money on researching alternative energy sources and improving the efficiency of existing energy sources. I just don't think it should come from government fiat nor do I think that we should be economically hobbling ourselves to get there.

Like him, dislike him, this is pretty informal on why Trump is pulling out.

100% correct.. like I said It would kill America.

Green energy is a field that's actually generating jobs

http://www.energyfactcheck.org/jobs

Ya know we were never part of that agreement so our current green energy sector has nothing to do with this agreement. Our green energy sector has been booming and will keep booming as new technology comes out.

there's a part in there where it says it could create uncertainty of green energy and slow deployment of said jobs, these are opinions of a man but he's a professor of a school of management and has written a few books on business.

So were going to move from having a booming green energy sector to slow deployment of jobs...? The reason for the green energy sector is massively decreased costs and government incentives.

So you trust some random guy's theoretical opinion on what might happen over countless studies that show what will happen if we don't tackle this issue.

Do you guys not think it odd that nearly the entire world agrees on something but the Republican party is caught on subterfuge and theoretical scenarios? Or is this just the 'liberal worlds' bias?

You mean like how by 2012/2015 we were suppose to have major flooding and most of Florida would be wiped off the map? Oh no wait... Our doom has been rescheduled for 20 years past the previous goal marker. In 20 years what they said 15 years will definitely come true, they have never been wrong before.

can i get some sources on those claims?

The source is my textbooks and tests I had to take in school. I wonder if I could dig the claims up somewhere on google... Pretty much we be having an ecological collapse right now and were not. I've talked to people older than I am and they have said they were told the same thing but it was set to happen in early 2000's.

If only Trump's father had pulled out. ZING!

But seriously, propping up the dying oil industry is not only shortsighted, it is downright moronic. Oil companies make insane profits at the expense of the climate and something really has to be done about it. The Paris Accords were a good starting point of something bigger. Seriously though, how could anyone seriously say we should keep pouring money into fossil fuels instead of renewable energy, it just boggles my mind.

Crowder is a big dumb idiot who is wrong constantly.
He's also one of those anti feminist islamaphobic types which are a can of worms i don't really want to open but he's still gross and leaves slime everywhere he goes.

First of all, these are VERY biased videos by some pretty extreme liberals.. I'm not going to watch videos that are heavily opinion based against him. Again, provide legitimate sources as to why he's wrong. Not just climate change mind you, but other ones. You did generalize after all. If you can't do that much, then our discussion is over I guess.

What proof is there that potholer54 is a biased liberal? cause all of his videos just seem pretty scientific and the other dude TMM is mainly about religion it seems, so your claim these are "extremely biased" from "some pretty extreme liberals" is just you sticking your head in the sand and just not wanting to watch them.

second this thread is mainly about climate change and crowder has been proven pretty dumb on that, i also don't wanna bring a bunch of other heavily divisive political topics into this thread.

so what you're saying is you have only anecdotal evidence and i'm supposed to take what you say at face value?

With unemployment below 5% job creation really shouldn't be a concern. Quality of jobs, yes, but simply making "more jobs" is pointless.

yes but we're fostering a job environment that has only shown constant improvement and is showing to be the future, so i think investing in it would be pretty smart.

Proof? Go read the comments on his videos. Also, linking videos to people making videos on another video isn't a legitimate source. You'd get laughed out of college with that when asked for sources.

Proven dumb on what? He's said countless times that he does not deny climate change. He provides questions, sources to back up those questions and especially the questionable imminent threat it'll have on our society. So far, there is none. So I ask you this. Why endanger our economy when your scientists can't even provide an exact date as to when or even if it'll happen? It can happen a 100 years from now, it can happen in 500 years for all we know. How about let's hang on for now?

Proof of them being biased liberals is the people that comment on their content? not their content as it is? also you linked a youtube video as a claim against the climate accords so im not sure what your point is there? crowder is a youtuber and there aren't really scientific studies on why he is wrong, and again the people who call out his bullshit are citing their sources so id argue there is some validity.

If youd like to hear about why this climate accord is helpful for business then read some points i made earlier, i don't like repeating myself so much.

Hey, all I did was provide a video to inform on why our president is doing what he's doing. You're trying to do something that's different which is claiming he's "wrong". Providing videos of people like Potholer54 who's known for refusing to go on Steven's show to have a debate about the whole thing is pretty laughable and fishy in my opinion. Especially when Steven is a pretty lenient guy when he has guests on the show, both conservative and liberal mind you.

I did, and it's not very sound given the negative effects that come into play as well.. This is where we'll have to agree to disagree since I must go to bed. Have a good night.

potholer even said he is in a different time zone but he was open to go on the show its just time difference, saying he avoided the show is wrong.

Steven says differently... The fans in his comment section also said the same thing as Steven...You sure you're not lying...?

By the way, Steven has had guests from the U.K come on the show before. I think Potholer54 can figure out a time..

go to 9 minutes into this video and he explains the situation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeOZSMrwnYw&t=35s
also just because he doesn't wanna debate doesn't debunk his claims, even though he has shown willingness to debate.

Also i was just trying to be friendly in a dumb way because id like to think even though we have differing opinions we have respect for each other, still love ya.
