I love how people just throw the word "homophobic" around. I'm not afraid of gay people, I just don't agree with it.

Don't care, I was watching anime long before the LGBT group came along trying to force their views on everyone, you aren't special

I read the legislation and the ABC article completely misrepresented it. I was surprised enough by the article that I had to see if it was true, because it was sounded like a law that was so far off the rails. It was not. The article was lying about what the legislation said. The legislation was preventing government authorities or state contracted or run child services agencies from discriminating against private child welfare providers for refusing to operate outside of their beliefs. This is not referring to a state run child protective services.

Why does the right talk about the first amendment as if they are protecting it?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This law seems to go against the amendment in spirit as it allows businesses to discriminate based off religion. It doesn't technically go against it though; which is why it was passed.

Expected of Texas I guess, but FYI, married, Christian couples doesn't equal the "best" always. It's all based on the type of upbringing and the values of the parents. There can be bad seeds in supposedly "perfect" families as well.
