I was trading my car in at the dealership when i went to the lobby i saw most gathered around the tv. that's how i found out.
I lost my cousin a fireman and a friend that day so all this stuff going on in England is like a punch in the gut.

Could always be worse. You could have lost 2 cousins and an uncle to Bushes war! Yay hatred! Yay violence!

I am sorry for your loss, but I don't think you meant to give the impression that family tragedies are some kind of competition, yeah?

I don't remember for I was only 3 years old at the time.

I was sitting in my basement apartment, coding an IRC client for MSN Chat at the time.
My then-girlfriend was getting ready for work and was watching the news when it happened.
I was more worried about those I knew that had family members and parents that worked at the Pentagon or the World Trade Center. I lost a distant relative from the attack (a second cousin, but in the "south" of Maryland, it's not much different than being in the "deep south" - second/third cousins are frequently in your life in some way or another).

No, I am just saying to look at the bright side, it could always be worse. I am often on that side. Death follows me like a bad friend lol.

Admittedly, I relate to you quite well in this regard. One thing that has come with age (*shakes a cane*) is the understanding that stating the "Touch of Death" that has followed you in such a way does come off as being competitive ("I've seen more shit than you" or "Ha, that's adorable.. get back to me when.." is kind of what other people see when it's stated in such a way). Not reprimanding/attacking you, just giving a few sentences of "old man advice" from a kindred spirit.

In your "old man advice", you first need to be old. If you two's reported ages are correct you are still youngsters.
Don't try to be old before your time and work on keeping healthy. Death is on a Pale Horse he rides.

Woke up, was getting ready to go to a college class. See it on the news sometime before the towers has fallen and the smoke from the fuel (both towers), brother walks in and I tell him "they attacked the towers again" cause I remembered the van bomb in the basement parking a decade before. Went to class, rest of the day was kind of a blur.

I was at work in a training session. They suddenly canceled the class and sent everyone in the building home.

I remember when JFK was shot. I was in home room in high school.

I remember when man first walked on the moon. I was in a summer sales job when I was in college. We saw it on a client's TV set.

Lol. Quotations were there for a reason. Most of those in their 20's or younger tend to call me an old man, despite the fact that there's plenty 50+-year-olds on these forums.

At a horse farm. A neighbor wanted me to watch coverage on TV with her. Her youngest son had just left for college so she needed a little comfort.

Haha, you are nowhere near old. I am friends with a few 50+ year olds on here. Now that is older.

The terrible news traveled to me after a basketball practise. I was 14, I believe. Mom picked me up and tried explain something about an attack on somewhere but I was too tired of that practise.

So I guess it was more than a shock since I have been living peacefully enough. Then the day passed as we were watching news rest of the day/night before going to sleep.
