The Temple of Israha is the center of Israha. It House the Pope as well as the main location for worship. The One-Hundred Stair the led to the alter is a testament to one's religious conviction.

Joseph Frer climbs the 1000 stairs that leads to the Temple of Ishraha. He was called there by Pope King Ozias His self. When Joseph reaches the top The Pope is surrounded by about 50 followers bowing grasping at his robes. He sees Joseph.

Pope Ozias: Please everyone leaves us. I must speak with my favorite Knight.

The group of followers do as the are commanded and leave the temple leave food, money, clothing and jewelry behind. The Pope walks up the the Alter of the temple and take a sit on his throne which is positioned directly in front of the Idol of Israha. Joseph kneels before the king and draws his sword extending it to his king.

Joseph: My sword is yours Great Pope King. What is the Will of Israha that I must do?

Pope Ozias: One moment my child. we wait for one more.

Pope Ozias says as they wait for the Seven Deadly Sin that he had sent for.

One hundred stairs left. Darius allowed himself a scowl as he neared the top of the stairs leading to the temple. He hadn't yet been told why he had been summoned by the Pope, but that fact itself was reason enough for a sour mood. Eighty steps. To lift his mood, Darius imagined various ways that he could end the Pope's life. Out of the three he came up with, his favorite was the possibility of altering the man's gravity and sending him falling sideways out the temple doors and over the city, never to return. Fifty steps. The young knight sighed and wiped the scowl from his face. It wouldn't do to look displeased to be in the Pope's presence. Now that he was in a better mood, he wondered again what the mission - he couldn't think of any other reason for him to have been summoned - would be. He had been lucky enough to avoid anything that would stain his conscience, but he knew it was likely only a matter of time until he did. Five steps The raised hood of Darius's black cloak was the first bit of him to come into view as he ascended the last few stairs. He was surprised to see Joseph waiting before the Pope. Why would both of them have been called at the same time? Whatever it was that needed doing, it was surely important. Darius's cloak and loose-fitting grey clothes made him seem to glide across the room as he made his way to the two men. He knelt at Joseph's side. "Greetings, your majesty." Lacking, as usual, a weapon like Joseph's, Darius did not present a blade or tool of any sort. "What is the will of the goddess?" He had never liked the way he had to address the Pope or any such official of the church. If the point of the church was to spread the love and peace of the goddess to all people and to make everyone equal in those blessings, why was it that the Pope was all but worshiped? The fact had turned his stomach when he had first arrived as a child, but he had since grown accustomed to the hypocrisy.

Joseph looks to Darius with disgust.

Joseph: My liege, What is the foul being doing here. He taints this alter with his very presence.

Pope Ozias: Calm down Joseph. I brought you both here because A mission has come up. I decided that I wanted to send My favorite Paladin, and my favorite Sin. I think the two of you should be able to handle anything if you work together.

Darius didn't return Joseph's look . In truth, he didn't raise his head at all. He was used to the Paladin's outbursts and opinion of the Sins, and assumed that they stemmed from a belief that the seven of them were a collective evil that the Pope had somehow pulled into the service of the goddess. He imagined that the man was going to be displeased that they would have to travel and work together. For Darius's part, he was pleased. If Joseph was on the mission, then it must have been something that the church would be proud to take credit for. That was reassuring. Ignoring Joseph's comment, Darius spoke. "This must be quite the task, for both a Knight Paladin and a Sin to be sent."

Pope Ozias Steps down from his throne.

Pope Ozias: As observant as every my child. Their is a little elven girl running around saying that she was visited by the Goddess Israha. I would like for you two to investigate this matter. If it is true then I wish for you to bring the girl to me. If it is not, well then we can't have someone spreading Lies about our goddess.

Joseph seem to be confused?

Joseph: Um my lord? What do you mean, by that?
Pope Ozias: You don't have to worry about that Joseph. You are on this mission to safeguard the girl back here. Darius in on this mission to take care of the situation if things turn out to be less than true. Do you understand Darius.

Ozias looks at Darius with his eyes narrow. looking to be seemingly saying You know what needs to be done. The tone in the room immediately darkens.

Darius couldn't decide if Joseph truly didn't understand what he was being told or if the man was hoping for the Pope to change the orders he had given. It was clear that they were being ordered to kill the child, and likely to do so regardless of her claim's validity. Once again without raising his head, Darius responded to the order. "I understand perfectly." His words had been true - he understood that the Pope wanted the child was to die by his hand - but he had no intention following the order. Joseph would likely object even if he tried to eliminate the child. The man was, as far as Darius could tell, truly good at heart and wouldn't stand for the death of an innocent child.

The Pope smiles feeling as if his orders were clear.

Pope Ozias: Good! Now my children. The information I had say that the girl has recently come under the care of an Imperial Knight from Leona. They were last seen in the Rose Forest. Start there and track them down.

Ozias places his hands on both of their heads

Pope Ozias: Dear Goddess, bless these warriors on their journey of righteous.

Joseph kisses the pop's hand and gets up and leaves the temple. Waiting for Darius outside.

Darius couldn't help but wonder if the "blessing" the Pope gave had any effect whatsoever. Rather than kiss the Pope's hand, Darius gave a respectful nod before rising and joining Joseph outside. Looking down from their viewpoint, his his first thought was the same as it nearly always was. One thousand steps. It was a mystery to him why the church had to built the temple so high up. Granted, the church seemed to enjoy excess, but it seemed a bit much to make everyone walk up so many steps when even half as many would likely suffice. Darius looked to Joseph. "After you, Knight Paladin. Yours is the face the people long to see, so you should lead." Though he said that, Darius was unsure of how many people would recognize any of the Deadly Sins on sight.

Joseph looks at Darius.

Joseph: We will sail to the town of Maria. We have followers there so we should be able to blend in and gather information. I advise that you keep any ideas of debauchery buried within. I don't know what you think you are here to do, but I will protect that child with my life. Do you understand Sin?

Darius was please that he was correct in his assumption of Joseph's character. Though he knew that was only true if the man was being honest. "Of course." He had to wonder, though, what would happen if it were to come to that. Would the Paladin truly be able to fend him off? He supposed it didn't matter, since it wouldn't come to that. "It is my honest hope that the child remains safe." For Darius, that meant that he wanted her not only to be safe from harm, but also that she not be brought to the Pope.
