So apparently Runescape decided to have a pride event without asking the community

The Greeks were highly confident the Earth was round in 350BC. Are you getting your knowledge of the past from hollywood and fiction or historic fact?

It took centuries for people to be punished for saying the Earth was flat and that was more of just the Catholic church abusing its power.

The greeks sure but the main religion of greek was different from Christianity which im pretty sure is what he is on about.
I'm getting my information from History not hollywood or fiction.

IT was the catholic church abusing its power but it happened and people even before them were ridiculed.

No one believes the earth is flat (i hope) but ancient people did the greeks were just smarter then most in many fields but for a time Greek's did believe the world was flat until the classical era.

Did most of them believe it was flat? Or are you just assuming? I cannot say how common or uncommon it was at 0AD because I have a lack of proof one way or the other do you have some good proof? I know Greek scholars accepted it was round and their knowledge was absorbed into the Roman empire who conquered the Mediterranean including the areas that Jesus was born in. The question is if that knowledge was widely spread around 0AD. So people then knew it was round but how many is the question.

Not assuming if you read up on Greek history it's there.
Are the historians assuming well to a degree based on relics and writing from that era.

I don't think anyone knows how many sadly

First of all, depression can be cured in a variety of ways. Being gay can't, you have to live with it.

Secondly, nobody cares what a 2000 year old book written by goat herding flat-earthers says about pride.

The ignorance of this statement... I would say first off about 4 out of 7billion people in the world care... based solely off of Christian/Muslim/Jew census data, so that means the majority of the world! If you dont care's bout something simply say so. To say nobody cares about about a religious relic of historical importance is false.Lets try to keep our statements as objective as possible unless you are stating its your own opinion.

The bible says nothing about a flat Earth.

1 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.”
Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...”
Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...”
Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”
Isaiah 45:18: “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...”

so what part of this says flat? I don't see the world flat or any reference to flat earth... Well I suppose if I was trying to prove a point I could argue these extremely broad statements could mean the world was made out of glue... If your going to add references at least pick something that isn't abstract please.

Step 1) Hamfistedly push sexual extremism on your customers
Step 2) Force them to stop doing business with you when they get pissed off
Step 3) Ban other customers and piss them off incidentally

My guess for step four: apologize while simultaneously posturing sanctimoniously. A possible step five is to double down on the extremism and denounce the people that stopped patronizing you because of it.

LGBT pride isn't sexual extremism you know.

I, and most people, would disagree. Actually, you could possibly even prove it mathematically. As far as the "T" goes, well, yeah, it's pretty extreme to be proud that you suffer a medically recognized mental illness. I mean, I can understand not being ashamed that you struggle with depression... but being proud that you have an ailment? That's just .... wacky.

Pride ... the most evil of the seven deadly sins.

dysphoria is not the source of pride

it is recognized by the dsm but it is not listed as illness nor is it treated as such

you can act smug & pretend you're right about it all you want but just like every other LGBT related issue it's going to progressively become more and more mainstream and there is genuinely nothing you can do about it

Liberals feel the need to inject their politics into all walks of life, from TV and movies, to sports, and now, sadly, games. I don't blame so many Runescrape players for being irked by it.

Runescape seems so niche in it's continued popularity, that I'm surprised it even warranted enough attention from anyone in favor of the movement.

I'm pretty sure that the "rioting" and sharp backlash occured because the Devs have a history of being dicks, period. When you start pissing off your consumers and continue the trend unabashedly, you get a snowball effect; it won't take much to set folks off, and will only worsen. Don't solely make this about religious knee-jerking, because the anger has more to do with a lack of communication and consideration than anything else.

Tch, every time I hear "gender", "relationships", "marriage" or "religion" I just cringe. Why must these retards argue over things that have so little significance in this world. We're all going to die and it's all going to be lost in the end so why bother? Well at least I can die peacefully knowing that I'll never degrade myself to the point where I take part in any of them : )

Honestly, if your reaction to anything is "dress like the KKK and march" you have a problem.

More like, if you have a problem with virtual avatars of people marching around in KKK robes in a video game, you have a problem.

I probably would have been one to get banned if I still played OSRS; I would have joined along because, honestly, that is pretty damn funny. And, if I remember the community as well as I believe that I do, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if over 80% of the "movement's" attendance rate was just for troll purposes.

As i said. Noone who plays these games gives two shits about relidion, politics or social justice. They pay to play to avoid these issues. I predict they will see a mass exodus of paying "whales" as every other game or service that is dependant on paid subscribors has. Espn is dying because they began injecting politics into their commantary. As one of those iap whales i can tell you nothing will guarentee i uninstall you like injecting that shit into my space.

It's all part of the plan to get people to stop playing video games.

And on this day did Gandolf the White leave Middle Earth with the elves.

It is like getting upset over white skittles, which you know if you combine all the colors of the rainbow as light you get white.
So white could be seen as supporting the very thing of the event.

Was there a rule that you couldn't wear white? Its not even past Labor Day yet.
