Basically the title should be "My Girlfriend is a Faithful Virgin Slut"...which contains a logical contradiction, so...wat

Then why don't they just have Tomoko say "slut"? Not sure how, but is it a literal definition versus slang terms that aren't typically well defined?

That is my guess, but "bitch" does make sense I suppose.

It's translators and subtitles being wonky. Japan has several borrowed English words they have given a different meaning to (in this case bitch = slut) and an irritating number of translators keep the borrowed worded rather than substituting it for something that conveys the proper meaning in English. This isn't limited to borrowed words; translators (especially scanlators) have a really nasty habit of doing literal translations instead of altering the wording to carry the meaning of the dialogue.

You gave a much better explanation than I did. +1

Ah, I see, so a sort of cultural connotation difference? Not familiar with loanwords in that sense.

You're probably right that the best English word for the author to use would be 'nympho" since a slut can't be a virgin or faithful.

If I remember correctly, in German the English loanword "Job" is used to denote a crappy job, different from "Arbeit" which implies a good job; while in Japanese the German loanword "arbeito" is used to mean a crappy job. So it's meaning is the opposite in Japanese.
In German you have the English word "Handy" which means cellphone but has different meanings in English...

Basically, "bitch" in Japan is often used to describe slutty, rude gyarus, so if a girl is a gyaru, or promiscuous, etc, then she'll often get that label. It kinda falls into the same category of "Do we use onii-chan or brother?", where it's kinda up to the translator and just how hardcore otaku the target audience is. The more otaku the target audience, the more you'll see onii-chan, while the more mainstream, the more you'll see brother. Just kinda stuff you gotta get used to

I'd chastise the protagonist and or author for using such demeaning words to describe a significant other, if I did not use similar verbiage in such a manner every other Friday.

Edit: Holy shit, it IS Friday!

So the guys in the boardroom were casting around for ideas, and they found... this.
Please tell me this is a joke. What do they do, make a minimally-animated TV show out every top manga selling that week?
Never mind.
I predict this thing will be a work of art and shall be remembered for years to come. probably.

So how many more "My girlfriend is a"/"My sister is a" anime are we going to get this year?

Well, that's quite an interesting and creative name for this show's title. I'm certainly intrigued by what this brings to the table seeing that bitch and virgin together just means potential for a lot of craziness. The premise certainly is an accurate description of what I can expect. But in any case, it has caught my attention, and it will most likely be coming sometime in 2018 knowing how long the turnaround usually is.

Worth a gander on title alone. If manga readers say it's good. I hope anime will be faithful.

Okay so basically you're saying that if something does not appeal to someone and is on its face absolute garbage, then that's what they should spend time reading/watching. That's the funniest logic I have ever encountered.

This is something sinking to a new low, and it's a shame.
