Hey everyone,

We have another bunch of catalog titles available today on Crunchyroll from Funimation, starting with Black Cat, available for members in the US and Canada.

The bounty hunter Sven is barely scraping by when he crosses paths with the Black Cat (a.k.a. Train Heartnet) and the young bio-weapon Eve. The three new companions will need more than luck to survive when they find themselves sought by both the Chronos Numbers and a Taoist revolutionary group called the Apostles of the Star.

Ergo Proxy also joins the lineup for members in the US and Canada.

Thousands of years after Earth’s atmosphere was destroyed, adventure blooms in the strangets of places. The domed city of Romdo is supposed to be perfect, but Re-l Mayer, a young female inspector from the Civilian Intelligence Office, knows better. In this place where humans and robots coexist, she receives a strange message: something is awakening!

Texhnolyze also joins the lineup for members in the US and Canada.

Cult-favorite Yoshitoshi ABe tempts us to witness man’s downward spiral in a future overrun by violence, greed, and depravity. After Ichise loses an arm and leg, he’s equipped with experimental robotic limbs against his will. When an army of men transformed into terrifying machines invades his city, Ichise rages against humanity’s demise—but can his actions actually be the catalyst?

Aquarion EVOL joins the lineup as well in the US and Canada.

After accidentally forming the legendary mecha “Aquarion,” Amata finds himself at a pilot-training academy where the girls are flirty and the boys seem more interested in exploring holes and big bangs than harnessing their Elemental superpowers. When a mysterious megalomaniac plots interplanetary disaster, the fate of the galaxy depends on whether or not the hormone-fueled coeds can come together.

Finally, we also have Black Blood Brothers available for members in the following territories: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Netherlands.

A decade has passed since the war between humans and vampires, when the infectious bite of the Kowloon Bloodline set the streets ablaze. Today, Jiro travels to the Special Zone, where the peace between vampires and humans is threatening to crack. As a new battle erupts between human soldiers, vampiric refugees, and Kowloon Children, Jiro must draw the Silver Blade once more.

Everybody propably knew by now that I was gonna say this but I'm still gonna say it... Where-the-[bleep]-is-[bleep]ing-Finland?!
The only positive thing in this list was that Sweden didn't get anything either so I guess I should at least be happy-ish about that. xD

By now you should expect to hear that you are unlikely to see Finland (or any country other than US and Canada) in the catalog titles coming from Funimation, because Funi, in most cases, hadn't themselves licensed the shows outside of those two countries. They can't give what they don't have.

I have heard of the anime "Black Cat" before and the critiques were mostly positive. Perhaps I should give it a shot.

Congratulations Crunchyroll on getting Texhnolyze!!! I honestly didn't think you guys would be able to get it. You guys have seriously impressed me by getting my favorite anime of all time right next to Lain. If Haibane Renmei gets put on here then it will complete the holy trinity of anime.

I'm not surprised by the older titles being US and Canada only, but I would have expected Aquarion Evol to have been the one available beyond that instead of Black Blood Brothers (another older title).

If you ever viewed any of the To Love-ru series, expect at least one of the characters to give you a strong sense of deja vu.

The ones I wanted to see no in the UK, dissapointing Thursday batch for me this time. Still nice to see their ramping up license transfers, chomping at the bit to cancel Funimation UK sub when most the catalogue has been ported but it's a slow drawn out process esp if we get the NA only stuff in large numbers taking priority.

Recommendations on what's good? I've read the Black Cat manga all the way through, but I haven't heard of any of the others. I don't want hentai and I'd prefer any ecchi be limited, but otherwise I'm pretty open. The only mecha I've sought out is code geass (which is awesome), and I'm not super into slice of life either, though, but it depends.

Thank you At least now non NA has some kind of answer for why we see good stuff get and get very little though I am worried that people will get sick of it it's a good site and I don't want to see people abandon it for that reason and it's a great industry I really don't like it when people steal from it but it sucks nothing can be done in that case...

This has an awesome seinen collection! Texhnolyze is on my all time top list. The first episode deserved the award it revieved; ironically enough, for best dialogue! It's the one I always recommend to people who think Anime is for kids. (Also for saddest, most riveting, and many other categories.) Now I have somewhere to send friends, instead of loaning out my copy! I didn't realize Funimation had it!
