Throughout my use of the crunchyroll android TV app I have experienced many issues. I don’t know if crunchyroll will continue to support the platform due to Android TV being in a very early build with few adopters though, if they have the app up for download it would be nice if it worked.

Version 1.0.31

Account Issues:
Several times while opening the app I found my show queue as well as my history empty. While looking at the settings I can see that I am logged into my account. I have previously had a working queue and history. I can get them to reappear by reinstalling the app (pain in the ass).
When attempting to log out of my account I get a “Can log out” error message, like I’m in SAO or some shit. I also can’t get the app to close without restarting my tv.

Playback Issues:
I have had playback issues with certain shows using the app e.g.(Natsume Yujin-cho 4 ep 7-12). Some shows will work fine up until certain episodes and then crash. The example above of Natsume Yujin-cho has the most common issue. The first 7 episodes of the series play fine however, when I attempt to play the 7th episode, 3 seconds of the op play in low resolution and then I get an error message saying “There was a problem playing the video. Please try again, or contact support if the problem persists.”; the rest of the season also has this issue. I have experienced this mostly with older shows and don’t have issues with most currently airing titles. I thought the problem may occur when the stream tries to switch to a higher resolution. I wanted to test for this but then I realized you can’t select resolution on the app either(totally should be added) so I was unable too.

If the developers ever feel like helping us Android TV users out, that’d be greeeaaaat.

By the way the TV I have is a Sony X850D
